ARC: Reckoning Discussion

Post by Area51Escapee » Tue Dec 09, 2008 10:12 am

Here's the general discussion thread for all things for the tournament, Reckoning.

As far as I go, I just posted my 4 entries for the competition. My lineup this time will be:

LW - Red Zone
MW - Taurus
HW - The Dark Side of Cupid
SHW - Sandman

I think I'll probably enter the same bots as last time. Maybe bring someone back from retirement or move around some shit. Should be good.

I've got a team ready, waiting for the CADs to be done. Although seeing as how my lightweight is a) a walker and b ) would probably look quite interesting in a CAD, I might ask one of the guys here with their talent for showing internals and overkill detail to do that one for me. :D

Provisional names:

Broken Wings (LW)
Octavius (MW)
Stiltskin (HW)
Drive (SHW)

*looks at huge spinners entered in past tournaments* ...eek.

I have a few days off for Christmas, 2 I think... I'll get my bots together then, if I can peel myself away from COD. I just hope I haven't gotten rusty.

Gem's being nice enough to do some CADs for me so I guess it's no 4 shovearounds for me.

I think it's nice I get some variety/try out some new designs but at the same time I'm kinda bummed cause I thought it would be intresting to see how I would do with four of the same robot. Eh, I'll find a chance to try that sooner or later...

I'm new to ARC, but I am from the FRA like a few others here. I've used 1 of my heavyweight vapours and converted another to a superheavyweight, currently drawing my middleweight in Paint :D

FRA, huh...

Who are you, again...? I might know you, I might not.

Edit: Got em in. Chris is awesome. Still looking for my first title. This could just be the year.

hmm, I think I'll replace my old MW with a Probotesque punch bot. That shit looked pretty cool last season.

I'm going to be starting to work on the new arena sometime this week. Do you guys have opinions of what to include? Not to include?

For those who have been in the past tournaments, I know of course what you guys would DEFINITELY NOT want me to include. I don't think I even need to say what it is. lol

I want as many pins as you can possible fit in an arena.

Seriously though, I thought the Backlash arena was pretty good. I'd like to fight in a square arena, I guess, and I wouldn't mind the Drum making a return along with a couple of hazards (killsaws, maybe the pulverizer? idk). Not too cluttered, however, in that you wouldn't be tripping over hazards all the time. A nice simple arena.

Inded. Good to see you over here :P

Though the Shovearound squad is no more...I kind of wanted to see how that would work, too. Eh.

I'm with the drum returning, too.

I would have to totally agree with Siphai's arena suggestions. Just replace the word "Backlash" with "Annihilation". I loved the Annihilation arena.

Yes, I know I'm biased because I did the cad...
