The Golden Man considers this a bit and then smiles.

"Excellent - I have some other things that need my attention. While your eggheads are at work, looks like you need something to be doing too. Please feel free to select one of our Merc squads and direct them in this operation. We've got hundreds of the guys on record, just type in three words into the Merc Hiring console in the corner and it'll pitch you the three squads that best match your words. Pick the one you like and get this Giant discredited!"

With that he heads over to a book case, pushes a certain self help guide and exits through the door that appears, which slams shut behind him.

TELLU, QUINN AND SCARLETT

Quinn leavers herself up in great pain, and full of rage, cleaves the Scarran's head off. Almost anyway - it's thick heat resistant hide and the fact his arm is also in the way resists the blade somewhat, and you end up with the head still attached on by a scrap of skin at one side, and the hand flops onto the floor with a bolt through it. He's still very dead regardless.

HORTENSE (MIKHAIL)
The machine pitches three squads to you:

SUMMERS NIGHTS
Three powerful human-mutant psychics who are all minor members of the famously elaborate Summers family tree. While powerful they die frequently, but tend to always come back to life given even the most tenuous excuse of a justification.

MEWLETS
While more reputable scientists produced Mewtwo, the Scientists of Beige Town produced MewNoughtPointThree. They couldn't afford cloning facilities, so just spliced some Mew DNA into some meowths. Said four Meowths gained invisibily flight bubbles and respectable psychic powers, but retained their Meowth lineage form, intelligence and hubris. They later formed their own mercenary squad.

CAPYBARA COMMANDOS
Four elite capybaras expelled from Black Ops teams for being too rad. They consist of Brad, Stee, Amber and Danger. Only Amber has telepathy, and fairly modest at that, but they are known to use high tech drones to project technological illusions. They all also love extreme sports, energy drinks and pranks.

The rush was back, and holy shit it felt good.

However, it was quickly tinged with a slight sense of guilt. However against us he was, he was sentient, probably for hire. She might even feel horrible, if it weren't for the fact he'd tried to kill her.

She put the sword away, and said to the others, "I feel normal again now, what do we do next?"

Tellu stares at Quinn in a mixture of disgust and disbelief. Even if those assholes had just tried to murder them all, Quinn just killed their best source of information, without a second thought, while he screamed for mercy. Just for some thrill!!

As if on cue...

Oh well. Who needs words when your life is on the line.

Tellu bristles, then drops out of Daimon form back to her human form... expending most of her remaining energy to do so.

"Tell me... just... just tell me about those attackers..." is all Tellu manages to get out to the surviving employees.

Before I fucking snap completely.

Scarlett still isn't a fan of resorting to murder, but she didn't see another option in the heat of the moment. And she did just save a bunch of innocent lives; she can forgive herself just this one time. As for Quinn... well, she doesn't have any sort of moral high ground to criticize her from anymore. Beheading is certainly barbaric, though. Her comment afterward doesn't help her case.

"You feel normal? You feel normal, do ya? We just killed two people, and you feel normal?"

Tellu doesn't bother to answer either Scarlett (she knows the questions weren't aimed at her) or Quinn. She knows that if she did reply, her speech would be violent.

She just wants an answer from the employees before Quinn's actions cause her to go nuts. And not nuts in a good way. The kind of nuts that endangers pretty much everyone around her.

HORTENSE (MIKHAIL)

Hortense selects the Summer Nights squad. You both head downstairs where they arrive. They consist of three mutants dressed in black and blue spandex with belts designed specifically to look like the invoke but do not infringe on the copyright of the X-men logo. They are:

Wesley Summers - A mutant telepath who can channel the Unicorn Force whatever that is.
Vera Summers - An attractive redhead with powerful telepathic and telekinetic powers.
Daniel Grey-Summers - An angry old man with two robotic legs, psychic illusions and specific tactical ops training. Also the biggest gun Mikhail has ever seen carried by a person, which is saying something.

You will be able to direct them in the field from either the control station in this building, or from a distance in the field. Hortense is not to personally engage though.

TELLU, QUINN AND SCARLETT
After that brutal execution, there is a moment of confusion before the party decide to talk to the three survivors.

They claim not to know anything about the specifics of who these people were or who sent them, but they can fill you in on what they were doing here and how it effects you. They themselves claim to only be office workers, but they had heard whispers that SONA Industries had developed technology that was directly controlling one of the competitors in the contest through some technological device. Not the one that's dead - one of the others. Apparently some of the design work was done in this very building.

DURG
Durg meanders around until he sees an establishment called "Wee Scuzza's Bare Ladies and Beer and Stuff" which indeed does contain numerous naked ladies and an ample supply of beer, to which Durg relates his tale so far. He drinks enough beer that he is mostly sure he slept with several ladies, but not 100% sure on that (SGR informs him his drinks bill was 100 credits, but he didn't have to pay for "anything else"). He awakes the next morning feeling refreshed.

Looking at the news he sees:
- Professor Vengeance has declared he will win the fighting tournament himself.
- Slavers have been more active, taking yet more pokemon from the streets.
- It seems like some shadowy figures have been taking potshots at the giant to test his defenses. None have done damage so far.
There is a fractional glitch for a second
- A competitor named Sasha Warren has declared she thinks the Giant and Axel smell.

He also sees that if he tells his gadget who he thinks will win the tournament, he gets to have another go on the prize machine.
