That is seriously one of the coolest-looking bots I've seen in a while.

<blockquote class='quote_blockquote'><dl><dt>KodeBreaker</dt><dd>Sep 27 2015, 08:20 AM</dd></dl><div>It's cool, but like NFX stated above it could be a bit more practical. The wedge looks like it reaches out further than the thwack, so it might disrupt that. I guess if the lifter is the main focus, then it makes the thwack issue less.

Still, good job&#33;[/quote]The thwack is more of a last-second point-scoring weapon than a damage weapon. I'm not expecting to pick up any KOs with it or anything. Still, I'll try to think of a way to make it more effective.

I'm glad people like the design :D

Thought I'd rework Endgame as well. Most of you probably saw this on Skype, but here ya go:
Image

I wanted to make Endgame more stable while staying true to its original purpose as a hard-hitting floor hazard. To do this, I've made the entire bot lower and wider, and made the legs thicker. It also got a fresh paintjob and some cute little eyes on the front.

Image
Does this look like the face of mercy?

Slight stat change, also considering renaming it to something along the lines of Hype Machine.
-Speed: 2
-Traction: 5
-Torque: 1
-Weapon: 17
-Armor: 11

Still powerful enough to potentially OHKO annoying wedges, but now has some traction investment so it doesn't go flying after every hit.

that really is much improved over the original (and I see no mercy in those eyes).. I'd suggest adding a point more to speed, but IDK if that's really necessary :v:

Nice. It definitely looks a lot better than the first one, and whilst I do agree with Goat on the addition of a speed point potentially benefiting it, it looks like it should be quite a mean spinner to deal with. Plus, I like the name Endgame as well, so I'd suggest keeping that. :P

Alright, so the new Endgame gets to keep its original name. I've also decided against putting another point in speed because that point has to come from somewhere else. I can't take points out of torque, I'd rather not make my traction or armor any lower, and the whole point of the bot is to have an obscene weapon stat. Considering the bar goes all the way around, I'm not too concerned about moving a bit slowly.

In other news, The Butcher popped up on reddit recently. The Butcher is a pneumatic horizontal spinner, which is a weird thing to say but it is strangely effective. But what if it was vertical? Then the bad gyroscopic forces would only be a problem for a few seconds at a time&#33; Time to make a bot out of this&#33;

Image

And thus, the pneumatic drum was born&#33; It's basically a Touro clone, except the drum only spins for a few seconds at a time, which means the turning problems vertical spinners usually have are almost totally negated. Haven't come up with a name yet.

Proposed stats:
-Speed: 6
-Traction: 6
-Torque: 2
-Weapon: 12
-Armor: 4

that's a bit low on the armor... I really like the idea here, and it could see some success

That doesn't look like it'll get much bite. If you're only spinning for a few seconds, you'll probably want to maximize bite as much as possible to ensure you get a hit.

Liking the idea, and thanks as well for locating the Evil Cheese Wedge VS The Butcher fight. Been looking for that one for a while. :v:

Pneumatic drum spinner is a pretty neat idea, I reckon. I find myself in agreement with Goat and Badnik, though, the drum doesn't look like it'll get a good enough bite to cause sufficient damage with its hits, and the Armour could perhaps stand to be bumped up a little, in my view. Very solid design here, though, hopefully we can see it in action in future.

Got a bigger tooth for the p-drum. It just barely misses the floor while spinning.
Image
And I've named it&#33; Since my recent white/blue bots both are named after Pokemon moves, I'm going to follow that trend from here on out. This one's now called Metal Burst. <del> I think I might re-stat it for Mech Mash as well.</del> see edit

As far as regular stats go, there's been a minor change:
-Speed: 5
-Traction: 6
-Torque: 1
-Weapon: 12
-Armor: 6

As per the advice I've received, I've bumped up the armor slightly.

EDIT: Mech Mash-friendly stats incoming:
Stats:
-Speed: 5
-Maneuverability: 5
-Traction: 2
-Weapon: 8
-Armor: 5

I'm not sure how traction matches up between the two systems because maneuverability seems like it would fill most of traction's current purpose. I'm assuming that in Mech Mash, traction is used for knockback calculation and maneuverability is turning and stuff.

So here's a LW design that looks good until you see the stats (yay more experimental stuff):

Image

The wheels are that plastic/foam stuff that Stinger has so flats aren't a problem. The wheel material is also covering the hub because <del>I forgot to sculpt the hubs out before merging the wheel meshes</del> it looks smoother. 2WD, the white bit on the end of the wedge is hinged for extra wedginess. Drum on the back because drums are cool. The sides have a small bump in the middle that may or may not prevent stranding. And now the ugly part:

-Speed: 5
-Traction: 5
-Torque: 1
-Weapon: 8
-Armor: 11 (+1 blue parts)

Wait, what? So this looks really dumb on paper <del>which is why I wrote it in a .txt instead</del>. I noticed that a lot of spinners have 5-7 armor, which is pretty low. So, when you put two of those things up against each other, it's just a matter of which one gets hit less because they play like glass cannons. The truth is, you don't need 12+ weapon to break through these bots. 8 or 9 would work in theory, as long as those saved points are invested in armor to allow hit-taking.

So what about bricks? They usually have very high armor that such a low-power weapon can barely scratch&#33; Well, that's why I have an extra-wedgy wedge. They can't do anything if they don't have wheels on the ground&#33;

Oh yeah, I'm calling it Rapid. As in Rapid Spin. That one move where there's definitely spinning, but little damage to show for it.

Tried out a new floor texture and lighting setup for my scene. Also made a new bot to go with it because I was "in the zone," as they say. I'm actually kinda excited about this one, and it might even replace Fatal Error on my FRR lineup. Meet Rosebud:

ImageImage

The last time I used pink for one of these was when I helped my niece make a Final Destiny-esque spinner design. I think I still have a render of that lying around on my computer somewhere. Might post it if I can find it and my own ideas start slowing down.

Anyway, back to Rosebud: it's the spiritual successor to Brute Force. Not quite as fast, but still quick and (theoretically) more controlled. The big wedge protects the sides from spinner hits and the top from hammers, and the lifting arc allows self-righting.

The stats I have it working with right now:
-Speed: 8
-Traction: 7
-Torque: 2
-Weapon: 2
-Armor: 11

So, what kinds of turning problems am I looking at?

I dont think turning will be an issue :P solid design. if you enter it into a tournament with not many spinners, I'd suggest putting more into torque and less into armor, but I'm known to not be right about that sort of thing :v:

I made the stats based on the Ruination entries since most people haven't put up their lightweight in FRR yet. If I don't see many spinners later on and I decide to enter Rosebud, I'll tweak the stats a bit.
