OK, time to do my RP for Dreadnought VS Ricochet, in which case. In front-hinged flipper terms, the Teacher versus the Student, so to speak. :P

Strategy
So we're both pretty similar designs, and we're near-identical for drive. Ricochet has got the stronger armour, and Dreadnought Mk3 likewise has the considerably more powerful and reliable flipper. However, there are some other more subtle differences that work in my favour- my solid 2WD wedges will be stronger than his hinged ones (and less susceptible to being broken), I'll recover much better from being turned over with my bigger and stronger flipper (with only 3 power, I have my doubts as to whether he can, at least easily), and I have the polycarbonate strip on top of the wedge for stopping him driving over, whereas he doesn't have that and thus I can get off his wedge by both J-hooking and driving over him.

So with that in mind, I'm going to be both aggressive and pragmatic throughout. Move out quickly and predominantly focus on attacking from the sides and corners for the most part, as well as always being ready to either flip him, copy his movements if he's on top of me to stop him from escaping, and if he gets under me- either reverse j-turning off the side or driving over the top of him before his flipper goes, in both cases hopefully giving me an opportunity to counterattack him from the side or behind depending. Flip him ASAP and keep him on his back as much as I can to limit the effectiveness of his flipper and wedge, actively block any attempts to self-right, and mix it in with various attacks all the while- flipping him against the wall or into the OOTA Zone where possible, squashing him into the walls to wear down the clock (my polycarbonate strip will stop him escaping) and forcing him into the Screws and Pulverisers to damage his wheels and flipper as best I can. If I can wear him down enough and break his side panels, I can also try propping him up onto the walls for a simple immobilisation victory, so there's that, too.

Defending myself mostly comes down to not only the active kind by keeping him on his back so he can't use the flipper and keeping him forced near the walls and on the defence constantly, but also in generally watching what he does throughout and always being ready to act accordingly. Keep constantly moving and unpredictable in my approaches, use all the different means of getting off his wedge if he gets under to constantly keep him guessing, and if he does flip me, self-right immediately to prevent him taking advantage. So basically, be very tricky and pragmatic throughout by making the most of my own opportunities whilst limiting his, and go for that OOTA or TKO if I can!

RP of whatever I called that hammer I made vs Jamied's rammer deal

he has 14 speed and 5 traction. if he ever manages to drive his robot in the direction he wants to it'll be a goddamned miracle. wedge wars wise, his design probably gives him the head-on advantage, but I can easily angle in (and with his control, he can't stop me). he doesn't actually state that they're hinged though, so if they aren't I can just go head-on. again, due to design, once he's on my wedge he'll be stranded quickly.

I threaten 1HKO (5 over his armor, hammers always get corner damage) on any part of him, so I really just need to hit once. I've already accepted that most of the match is going to be him flailing about the arena, but I just need to trap him once to make things work, so I'm not too worried. keep the fight in the corners/by hazards, and trap him when I can. get that hit in, and I win.

Ok. Just to keep this going and with the OK from Sylandro and Alex (sorry Brad) the next matchup will be Osiris vs Outrage



One thing I notice is all those corners on that grate. Enough hits on those and it's game over. Now he does have a a speed advantage, but he also has to dodge a giant disc in the front.
Let him come to me. If he's rushing with the lifter down or pressed, slowly spin in place with the trackballs so he will have to get hit by the disc (but won't create gyrodancing). However, if it appears that he's going to lift it up, do one of two things. Either hit the lifter as it tries to lift Outrage, or spin in place even faster. This will create gyrodancing, but it will also have him risk losing the wedge because the disc will basically be touching the floor at this point while pointed in his direction. If I get stuck on the grate, see if I can strafe off. If not, he has to let Outrage go at some point, and he'll pretty much lose his lifter if he brings it down with Outrage on the grate. After he lets me go, depending on where I end up, strafe and drive to take out those lifter arms and supports if I'm close to his sides. If I'm close to his front, slowly spin again to bait him into ramming into me. Back? Hit those wheels.

Don't drive into hazards and try to avoid getting stuck on the grate. Oh yes. One more thing. His saw: it doesn't get an armor bonus, so it'll just fly off on impact if it hits the disc. And even with the disc stopped, that "saw" doesn't have e any teeth. It'll grind and make sparks, but it doesn't have any bite to it. Basically a non factor in this fight.

Observations

1) I have a vastly superior drivetrain, and he really shouldn't be able to get around my sides, even by strafing. If he does his 'spin-on-the-spot' thing, it'll make him unstable, since his spinner is angled. He'll coin madly. If he slows it down, then it's not really makign any difference, is it?

2) With the weapon armour bonus and the added bonus of one point, I have enough armour (10) on the front of Osiris (with no hard corners) that he really shouldn't be able to wreck it, at least not without a LOT of full-power shots.

3) He has very little ground clearance as well as trackball wheels which have poor traction. With the shallow pyramid-shaped knobs and the slats in Osiris' dustpan, he won't be able to move or even sit in it flat. He'll likely be at an angle, preventing his spinner from spinning more than 180 degrees.

Strategy

1) Box rush the hell out of him, but watch out for any tricky strafing stuff and don't fall for it.

2) Hit him with the lifter down but not pressing. He has no effective wedge and there's no need to press.

3) Tank an initial hit or two with the lifter to slow down his weapon, and stay on him like a rottweiler. Before he can spin back up, open the lifter and slam it down on him like a jaw. Then nom nom nom him and get him into the dustpan.

4) Saw away at him. Keep the lifter (with the saw assembly on it) pressed down to prevent him from being able to spin up while trapped. Saw right into his relatively weak armour. Rinse and repeat.

5) Always keep the front facing him. Stay aggressive and in his face. Slow his blade down, clamp, and saw. Rinse and repeat.

RP against the hammer.

I need to get to his sides drive slowly to get to his side then go full speed and ram him into the walls, avoid the hazards. if he starts hammering down on me get out as quick as possible. If he trys to hammer on my wheel guards drive away then ram him and push him to the hazards or in to the OOTA pit. Flank when he gets a hold of me. good luck :)

The buzzer sounds, and Osiris proceeds to make a B-line straight for Outrage&#33; Outrage spins in place as the more lower-to-the-ground Osiris proceeds to wedge Outrage&#33; If Osiris raises it's lifter--which it does&#33; That can cause some instability with Outrage due to it's angled horizontal spinning disc, and Outrage is trying to spin faster now, but to no avail&#33; Outrage manages to get off of Osiris's lifter&#33; Outrage proceeds to strafe around Osiris, but Osiris backs away, just as Outrage gets a hit out on Osiris's lifter&#33; Man that impact was pretty brutal, and both Outrage, and Osiris get blasted back across the arena--and Outrage gets unbalanced a bit&#33;

This is pretty intense if i do say so myself&#33; Osiris gets back in the action, lowering it's lifter and heading towards the tumbling Outrage&#33; Osiris now has Outrage on it's lifter&#33; And this time, Osiris is pushing Outrage around the arena&#33; Outrage cannot strafe off as Osiris's saw is grinding down at Outrage's insides&#33; Continuous exposure to that saw will wear down Outrage's armor, and what's Osiris doing now? Ooh no, ooh no no no no&#33; He's going towards the pulverisers, and now the pulverizers are slammin' down at the now immobile Outrage&#33;

The count is beginning now.. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1&#33;

We have a winner here&#33;
