They're not fun to write results for and they + lifters are OP by gamestandards

you have to put 5 points on a lifter to get the bonus. we put in that rule to nerf lifters, and it didn't do enough

we're just gonna roll with it this tournament, but for future tournaments I'm thinking about making the damage scale more aggressive, which should fix the general problem

Actually, I think that Patrick meant that you wouldn't even be able to apply a non-weapon armour bonus to them. While I think that would go a long way towards remedying the problem, it's also highly unrealistic in terms of the irl game.

So in a way, it's almost like, either spinners or rammers will have to be incredibly overpowered at one time. Given the choice though, I'd much prefer it to be rammers- given that I feel there's a lot more skill and strategy to using a predominantly drivetrain-based machine effectively than a spinner, which under most circumstances can just get by with RPs consisting entirely of "spin up, drive into the other guy, repeat, and hope I don't die first".

It's actually quite difficult to drive a spinner in real life. And there's certainly more skill involved in engineering one, as opposed to a weaponless doorstop on wheels.

Also none of this matters in fic.
