League of Robotic Excellence: Awards

Post by Badnik96 » Thu Oct 10, 2013 9:43 am

And now, it's time for the post-season awards.

First, given to the best designed robot, we have the BioHazard Award. There were a lot of well-designed robots in this tournament, including Influenza, The Servant's Assistant 3 and Dr. Pepperdine. But, the award goes to Teresa, with her ingenious spike lifter design netting her an undefeated season.

The Maximus Award is up next, and this award is given to the most aggressive robot throughout the season. LoRE gave us many fast, aggressive rammers like Shadow Zone Forever, Punch Buggy and Recovered, but the winner by unanimous vote was Jesus Built My Hotrod.

The Ankle Biter Award is given to the main underdog of the season, someone who was underrated but still want far. Nine, Tankasaurus Rex, and Baphomet all did so, but Turgor was the most underrated of them all, and takes the award.

Next we have the equivalent of BBEANS' BTRSHDBBDTBL award: the MOE Award. This award is given out the the most overrated robot, that should have won a lot more than it did. We had so many robots that flopped this season that the award went to a three-way tie: Chemical X, Zombie Killer, and Black Mamba all performed way below expectations and take this award.

Next we have an award that needs no introduction, the Nightmare vs SlamJob award. I shouldn't have to tell you what this award is given to, but I will tell you that this was given to Lightning Bolt and Flame Byxis 230WD, when they hit each other and sent each other flying.

The award for the most unique design is up next, and it's obviously called the Mechadon Award. Dead Ringer for Love, Kite and Give Way were all nominated for this honor, but Tali'Zorah takes it and takes home the awesome trophy that comes with this award.

And finally, the Buddy Lee Award, given to the most entertaining robot. Three robots tied for this award as well: Tanksaurus Rex, SWARM and Harbinger all tied for this award.

Now, the two awards that don't require votes:

The Hazard Award, for the longest winning streak: The Servant's Assistant 3 and Teresa, both with 12 wins

And finally, the Award of Robotic Excellence, for the team with the best overall win record: Team Zlayerz, with an impressive 35-7 overall record.

Congratulations to everyone who won and good luck in later competitions!
