Round 1: The Dark Side of Cupid vs. Diamond Jim

Post by Area51Escapee » Sun Feb 14, 2010 10:13 am

Being popular for reintroducing spinners to the HW class, The Dark Side of Cupid, from Team Gemini, is one of the most deadly bots to fear in the arena today. Having dominated in his rookie season ARC: Reckoning, Cupid took the HW title with ease. However, now that there are many other young HW spinners wanting a part of the action, such as Revolver Ocelot, there's no telling how he'll manage now.

From Team Animal Cruelty, we have a thwack/hammer/wedge hybrid in the former semifinalist, Diamond Jim. DJ, having a rough road in his Redemption season, still managed to piece together a successful run. While he hasn't been back since, he's clearly capable in hanging with the best.

I voted Diamond Jim, but I'm having second thoughts. The 6 armor doesn't bode well when standing up to a spinner like Cupid. I do have confidence in Philip's ability to RP with thwacks, though, and perhaps he could hurt Cupid's weapon assembly with his thwack, considering how low Cupid's disc reaches.

Close, close...10 weapon power to 6 armour is going to hurt, but Jim has double the speed and almost three times the torque of Cupid. Plus that damned thwacker. I'm gonna go with Diamond Jim here, slightly.

Perhaps it would be better if you properly explained why you think Cupid would win.

Most people don't even bother to post who they voted for, Sparkey shouldn't be obligated to explain his reasoning.
