Have new bots that didn't make the cut for your Ruination team? Maybe you're a newer member who just missed the Ruination sign-ups. Whatever your situation is, FRR Backlash is the tournament for you!

Arena will be the ARC arena.

Banned robots
Flying robots
Hovercrafts
Clusterbots that don't have the same motivation in all their parts (i.e.: one part is a wheeled robot, the other is a walker)
<del>Underall</del>

Sign-up Info

- Subject to change... everyone enters a total of four bots, one from each weight class (Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Superheavyweight) and assigns them stats using 30 points per bot. Points will be divvied up by 5 categories:

-Speed
-Traction
-Armor
-Torque
-Weapon Power

The battles will take place in a Round Robin style (as opposed to the traditional tournament style) in which each bot will face every other bot once with playoffs afterward to determine the champion of each weight class.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Team Blood Gulch

LW: O'Malley

A dual bar spinner with tribars. 2WD and has spikes along the outside for style and some ramming/defense purposes. The bars run on the same system.

Speed: 4
Traction: 4
Torque: 1
Armor: 7
Weapon: 14

Image

MW: Clown Breath

Yeah, I'm not really sure what the legal status of ownership on this design is anymore XD. I guess the main difference between Nick's cool version and the one I cling to like some deluded hoarder is that mine is wheel driven. It's a powerful bar spinner and can wedge bots as well&#33;

Speed: 4
Traction: 2
Torque: 1
Armor: 8
Weapon: 15

Image

HW: The Arbiter

It's the other ToC replacement again&#33; He's got that low to the ground shape and has added hinged skirting at the front and along the sides. Wide head flipper design to get the most out of flips (and make "corner" shots trickier). 2WD bot and can use the flipper to self-right.

Speed: 7
Traction: 6
Torque: 3
Armor: 10
Weapon: 4

SHW: Final Boss

"Oh teh noez not Final Boss&#33;". Hey, Final Boss has actually done very little to earn this scary reputation he seems to have. 4WD. Low to the ground. Surrounded by hinged skirting. Features a flipper which can self-right the bot at need and can move inverted.

Speed: 7
Traction: 6
Torque: 3

Edited description thanks to <big><big><big><big><big>GABE</big></big></big></big></big>. :v: BlackRose is a 6WD box with a curved rear end and an interchangable lifter, with either three prongs or a scoop, and small static wedges underneath so she doesn't overbalance when lifting something. The lifter can swing about 80 degrees... 5 degrees down and 75 degrees up. :v: Normally this wouldn't be able to self-right the machine, but if BlackRose drives backwards while lifting herself, the weight shift will throw her over. She looks like Gamma Raptor, I guess. No, she doesn't have a 4-bar lifter. :v: She lifts, she pushes, she even plays tennis on her days off. But she doesn't like you. At all.

"The Colour of Awesome"

LW: Frequency

Lower, wedgier, tougher, deadlier, and other superlatives as well. Four wheel drive bar spinner with hinged wedges all around, and special arc-limiting cables to keep them from going into the path of the bar. Shallow leading lip on the front wedge for an easier time getting underneath stuff if I have to. Overhead motor allows the weapon to be as low as possible. Can self-right with the bar, but it's not the most reliable form of self-righting in the world.

Spd: 4
Tra: 2
Tor: 1
Wep: 15
Arm: 8

Middleweight: Depth Charge II

Image

Two ENORMOUS WHEELS attached to one ENORMOUS FLIPPER. Whole-body clamshell design gives full flipping power either way up (of course it's completely invertible), with a small lip extension on the front of the top half to better get underneath stuff. Angled sides and rounded rear to prevent getting high-sided, and so it can keep at least one wheel on the ground if it's gotten underneath.

Spd: 7
Tra: 6
Tor: 2
Wep: 5
Arm: 10

Heavyweight: Pursuit

Image
Image

6WD ramming brick, square wheelbase to help improve turning. Hinged wedge up front for wedging, plow at the back for plowing. Can run either way up with no change in functionality. Red and blue LED strips tell which way up the robot is: red means the robot is the right way up, blue means it's upside-down. Teeth at the front are used to catch robots but can be removed if necessary.

Spd: 9
Tra: 8
Tor: 4
Wep: 0
Arm: 9

SHW: Bloodlust

Image

2WD machine with a giant spinning bar up front. Designed to cause the maximum amount of damage in the minimum amount of time. Invertible, and the bar is offset to be low to the ground one way up. Should help in fights against wedges, while providing some choice of strategy (undercutting/overcutting). Should keep one wheel on the ground if gotten under from the side.

It just occurred to me that I never made a team name.

<big>Chaotic Robotics</big>

LW: Rosebud
No, there's no relation.

<img src="http://i.imgur.com/NXJubMC.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/FLVCmeV.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' />

-Speed: 7
-Traction: 6
-Torque: 2
-Weapon: 5
-Armor: 10

Tracked lifter. Wedge extends backward around the sides to shield the chassis from spinner hits, and over the top to shield against hammers. Lifter can be used to self-right, as well as pressed into the floor for extra wedging power. It's quick and pink. Nothing else to add here.

MW: Defiance
I'm gonna regret this.

<img src="http://i.imgur.com/L96TSBa.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/TP6wqao.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' />

-Speed: 5
-Traction: 4
-Torque: 1
-Weapon: 17
-Armor: 9

Invertable Manta-style walker. Spins a double-sided disc with pointed teeth to shred through armor more easily. Hinged skirts are on the sides and rear to screw over any rammers, flippers, or what have ya that don't have good wedges. A small, bearing-like caster keeps the weapon from touching the ground, and there is one on the top as well so Defiance doesn't lose effectiveness while inverted. It is fast enough to keep up with most wheeled spinners, as well.

HW: Escape Plan
You better have one.

<img src="http://i.imgur.com/jdfIwm0.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/45VX8Hz.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' />

-Speed: 6
-Traction: 5
-Torque: 2
-Weapon: 7
-Armor: 10

2WD front-hinged flipper. Big red plate on the front is the flipper area. Sometimes capable of running inverted, but can self-right as well. Hinged wedges on the front corners to deter angling in.

SHW: Mega Plowdozer
The big green tank is back.

<img src="http://i.imgur.com/PtLzBq1.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/QegOCXi.png" alt="Posted Image" width='400' height='260' />

-Speed: 7
-Traction: 6
-Torque: 4
-Weapon: 1
-Armor: 12

Essentially my Hammerfall entry, but with fewer flaws. 4WD invertible heavily armored lifter. Rear hinged wedge as a backup wedge (no pun intended). Rear wheels reach past the back of the chassis to provide some protection against opposing lifters. Unlike the original Plowdozer, the lifter on this one works the same both ways up. This also means I can push it down for extra wedging power. Also, the new plow has a better defensive shape.

The orange part of the FLIPPER is also a hinged wedge, limited from folding up all weirdly underneath the robot. there is also a hinged lip on the FLIPPER, because I like hinging wedges on hinged wedges. all of the hinge-ey bits (the teeth and lip) can be removed if they turn out to be a bad idea :v:

TEAM IGNITION
LW: Pyrite 3.0

The classic thwackbot undergoes a complete facelift. It's now a torque-reaction overhead thwack which features a very shallow wedge at the front. Works perfectly inverted, though the wedge's effectiveness is reduced. Yes, I realize the hammer point is digging into the floor in the second render. It's sharp, okay? :P

Speed: 8
Weapon: 0
Armor: 11
Traction: 7
Torque: 4

MW: WhipCoil
Image
After a brief stint in the HW division, where it placed second against the cheapest robot ever, it returns to its proper division in order to take its rightful crown. 4WD with the dual jaws (which act independently of each other) and a rear plow for spinners which is removable (When the plow is removed, internal ballast is added in its place to make up for the weight). WhipCoil's rear two wheels are direct-driven by its two drive motors, while the front wheels are chain-driven from the same two motors. This allows WhipCoil to have full drive function, even when its front two wheels are removed from the ground. 100% invertible.

Speed: 7
Weapon: 4 (multiple weapons rule gives both weapons a power of 3)
Armor: 9 (+3 for the rear plow)

4WD axebot which uses a rack-and-pinion system to fire quickly and powerfully. The axe head can be swapped around so the blunt end is on top if need be. Wedge spikes can be removed in case of spinners. The front wedge is hinged. Can self-right easily thanks to the axe's power.

Did say I'd withdrawn, but I've decided to re-enter after having some time to think about it. With that in mind, Ice Cubed Robotics reporting for duty.

LW- The Smiler
Image
So yup, even I've gotten into the Bar Spinner craze, now&#33; Introducing The Smiler, an Icewave-style HS with the motor armoured and mounted on top to give its weapon- a horizontal spinning bar with heavy Typhoon 2-style "hammer-cutters" on the ends for marmalising opponents with and can be set to spin either way to foil any "angling in the opposite side" tactics- a height of only a few inches off the ground for maximum devastation. Low chassis and centre of gravity for good stability, an interchangeable bar that runs practically along the ground to destroy wedges, wedges all-round for resistence against glancing blows, a wide front end for pushing to ensure it's not completely helpless if the weapon goes, and the rear wheels protrude out the back for escaping wedges. The only other thing to mention is, the bright green parts on the weapon and motor glow in the dark for additional fun.

YOU BELONG TO THE SMILER.

Speed: 4
Traction: 2
Torque: 2
Weapon: 14 (Electric-driven Bar Spinner with interchangeable straight or curved Anti-Wedge blades)
Armour: 8

Notes: Not invertible (Obviously) and may or may not be able to self-right depending on how it's flipped, but I'm not entirely sure how all that works. Bar can be set to spin either way. Named and themed after The Smiler, the 14-looping Roller Coaster from Alton Towers.

MW- Lyra
Image
Back from her original run in Ruination: The Omen and several overhauls over time, ARC's favourite pony is back for another go. She's still designed around an invertible 4WD chassis, but with a number of big improvements- the old pneumatic "horn" has been replaced with a set of powerful interchangeable Pneumatic Flippers (Either a rear-hinged one for more easily self-righting against opponents that can flip her, or a four-bar one for more effectively chucking opponents around with, and also potentially self-righting depending on the writers.) to more effectively take the fight to opponents, a lowered front end for stopping monster-truckers and allowing her to easily push opponents around using her huge torque, protruding back wheels for easily escaping wedges, and thick armour to resist spinners.

The armour in particular is complemented by specially-designed corner wedge protectors with enough space behind them to allow the hinged front wedges (Pulled down from below and behind by a non-powered system of taut steel cables) to push down the front by several degrees and provide much better wedgeability than average for a design of her kind, granting her great defence against both spinners and wedges. So overall, massively improved in terms of both versatility and fighting capabilities, and far more dangerous than her adorable little face and minty green coat would have you initially think. :P

Speed- 6
Traction- 6
Torque- 4
Weapon- 5 (Interchangeable Pneumatic Flipper- either rear-hinged or four-bar.)
Armour- 9

Notes: Can both run inverted and quickly self-right using either Flipper. The two hinged wedges at the front are pulled back from behind and below by a mechanical (Non-powered) system of taut steel cables to grant far better wedgeability than a standard 4WD hinge wedge. Named and themed after Lyra Heartstrings, a popular background character from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated series.

HW- Hypothermia
Image

Actually making use of the "ice" theme of Ice Cubed Robotics for once, this new machine takes the stage&#33; Designed to improve further on Uridium from last time, it maintains a similar hammer (Complete with beta-style spherical tips for maximising the force of each blow.), but it's now better-armoured, has better wedges on all sides, and most notably- its weapon is now mounted on a turret so that it can hit an opponent from anywhere, no matter where they approach from. Add that to a good turn of pace and specially-designed bodywork that enables it to not leave any exposed areas as it turns and be nicely protected at all times with the wedges, and you've got something that's...pretty scary, to say the least.

Speed- 5
Traction- 2
Torque- 1
Weapon- 13 (Double-sided Electric Hammer with interchangeable heads, mounted on a 360-degree turret.)
Armour- 9

Notes: Can self-right quickly with the Hammer. The turret is capable of spinning through a full 360 degrees, and the backswing of the Hammer is just as powerful as the forward swing, enabling it to hit opponents on up to two sides at once. The turret is designed not to leave any exposed corners or flat surfaces as it turns, as is the bodywork. Hammer can hit up to twice a second, and can swing a slight distance past the shown distance in order to effectively hit opponents under it.

SHW- Captain N.R.K (Pronounced"Anarchy")
Image

Annihi'ation-style walking ring spinner. Not much to say, but I'm pretty certain you know what it does. Heavy. Good for smash stuff.

Speed- 4
Traction- 3
Torque- 2
Weapon-15
Armour- 12

Notes- Invertible. Can spin either way. Shit decals, will update.

EDIT: Stats changed on the SHW so that they're a bit less prone to exploding and stuff.

LW - Powerdrive Jr

Image

People of the ARC world, I introduce to you a new LW, meet Powerdrive's little brother Powerdrive Jr. A nice design for him too. Like the heavyweight version of Powerdrive, Jr is nippier and more of a pusher than the HW version, the front of Jr is hinged in order to get underneath the flat sides of the opponent. the spikes on top of JR is to prevent from being beached upside down and stay at an acute angle in order to self right easily, the wedge on the back assists the self righting phase and protects the back wheels of Jr.

This could be the first LW vertical drum spinner in the LW category.

Speed: 6
Traction: 5
Torque: 2
Armour: 7
Weapon: 10

MW- Lethal Carriageway

Image

A New MW I've developed where this robot has an electronic powered lifting wedge in front, it's made for brute force and power, and trust me you don't want to see this thing through a motorway, it's 4WD, has orange small lights at the side of the robot to give it some character, it has and extra wedge that's upside down from behind in order for extra protection when it's inverted.

LC can run both ways up thanks to the shape and the size of it's wheels.

Speed: 7
Traction: 6
Torque: 3
Weapon: 3
Armour: 11

HW- Sparkster

Rocket Knight has had a complete over haul and now has become Sparkster, instead of a rammer it has now become a scoop/flipper type robot and 2WD, the spikes on top of the weapon is there to assist the robot when self right, it even has a curved plate at the back of the robot to give it some more assistance when self righting.

The armor is titanium and painted with chrome dark blue, it even has some nice logos on the robot referencing Sparkster. Especially the "Lets Go&#33;" quote on the back of the machine. I'm very happy with the robot's re-design.

The scoop when raised can stay up in order to hold the opponent off it's front or back wheels and push it to make it inverted.

SHW - Chemical Explosion V2

Image

This is a newly revamped version of Chemical Explosion, he's been completely changed and looks more less squared. The tracks have moved more in the middle of the robot instead of near the edges of the machine to lessen the risk of being immobilized, the weapon is still the spinning bar.

Traction: 4
Torque: 1

Team 57

Fairly safe to say this is my final lineup

Tidal Wave
Image
Drum spinner. 2wd set as close as possible to the edges without being outside the bot. The bot is wide to try to reduce gyro from the spinning drum.

Stats
Speed: 6
Traction: 3
Torque: 1
Armour: 7
Weapon: 13

Middleweight: Remi
Image

Remi has a 40lb 3-toothed drum spinner at the front, with tank tread drive and sides angled at 15 degrees. The robot is completely invertable. 2 of the two teeth of the drum are sharp, designed to pierce and rip up opponents. The third tooth is blunt, which allows the drum to fling bots upwards, possibly onto their sides. Of course, once the weapon is spinning, its near impossible to tell which tooth will hit. Hinged plow at the back in case of spinner. The sides feature sacrificial rubber armour bolted on to the bot.
Stats:
Speed: 5
Traction: 2
Torque: 2
Armour: 9 (+2 to Rear plow)
Weapon: 12

Heavyweight: Bass Drop
Image

Heavyweight upgraded version of my Sportsman class bot DnB. Hinged wedge at the front, hinged plow at the back. Big ol drum that freely rotates on an axis between the two hammer arms. Basically a really wide hammer. Can self right and/or knock itself off its side with the hammer.

Stats
Speed: 6
Traction: 3
Torque: 1
Armour: 7
Weapon: 13

Super Heavyweight: Uppercut V2
Image

An upgraded and revised version of my Hammerfall entry. 4wd. Dual flippers, one on each side. The tips of each flipper plate are hinged, but the rest of the arm is static. Unlike my Hammerfall entry, only one flipper fires at a time, and when one side is flipping, the other is locked out. Both flippers still run off same pneumatic, not sure if this will count for dual weapon score splitting or not, up to NWOWWE I suppose. This version can self-right with the flippers. Keeping within the theme of reference, there are speakers under each flipping arm. These speakers play the "YEAHHHH" from The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" Whenever the flipper is fired.

Stats:
Speed: 7
Traction: 4
Torque: 2
Armour: 10
Weapon: 7

I have decided to sign up.

I have decided to take a step into cadding, so please excuse my fairly simple and ugly bots. I will eventually learn to do better ones, but for now it's better than what I entered for Hammerfall and Ruination.

LW: Cheatbot

Low profile drum bot. Instead of teeth made for ripping, this drum has 2 blunt ends that are designed to fling opponents and bend frames. Is invertable and drum can work upside down. Wheels also stick out of the back slightly to prevent getting Ankle Biter'd. Top speed of 14 MPH

Speed: 5
Torque: 4
Traction: 3
Weapon: 10
Armor: 8

MW: D.U.D.E (Dusting Up Destroyed Electronics)

4 Wheel Drive Dustpan Bot. Dustpan has a slightly magnified front end to help get the dustpan as low as possible without hindering speed/torque/traction. Inside the dustpan is a moderately powered flipper. This bot is designed to use speed and superior pushing to trap opponents inside the dustpan, flip them, and then recapture to repeat the process or tour the hazards. I want to be able to control the entire fight if possible. If inverted, the black skirts on the plow act as a stability bar, which allows D.U.D.E to drive inverted without the wheels tipping forward at any point. Can also self right using it's flipper. Black side skirts are slanted on the outside to help deflect blows from spinners. Ramming spikes on the rear. Top speed of 11 MPH

Speed: 6
Traction: 4
Armor: 8
Weapon: 8
Torque: 4

HW: Landkreuzer P1000

Basically a brick on treads. Capable of reaching speeds up to 16 MPH. Tank treads give it superior traction and torque, and it's so well armored that not many bots will be able to pierce it's armor. Both ends have blunt tips on the corners to cause massive bending and large puncture wounds. Completely invertable.

Speed: 7
Traction: 5
Torque: 5
Armor: 13
Weapon: 0

SHW: Dat Dog 2

While Ruination is still going on, I see the design flaws in Dat Dog. To combat this, I have been toiling relentlessly in my garage to create the successor to the 1.0 version of Dat Dog. Meet the 2.0 Version of Dat Dog. This time around, Dat Dog is a 8WD Plowbot. In theory, Dat Dog can lose 4 of these wheels in any combination and still be maneuverable ala Stinger. Taking a page from the famed Underall in the front, individual wedges on the front will help in getting under bots. Front plow is ground down to where it scrapes the floor, making the very front of Dat Dog pretty much impossible to get under. Ramming spears in the rear just in case. Is invertable and works exactly the same upside down and right side up, although it loses its plow inverted. Can reach speeds of 18 MPH. Although 8WD, it's high traction allows it to essentially turn on a dime. Expect Dat Dog to outpush most of the competition this season. If inverted the plow will still act as a plow, sans the front wedges. It can lose a ton of wheels before disabled. Wheels are tough as shit too.

Speed: 7
Torque: 4
Armor: 14
Traction: 5
Weapon: 0

My first FRC entry. Some of these designs are very good, and some are insanely stupid, I'm just don't know which are which. Work in progress: stats are coming soon. English isn't my first, so forgive me for my grammar.

LW: Tortoise
ImageImageImage
This robot is a 4WD kinetic wedge-flipper that stores it's kinetic energy in a front drum that serves as a weapon too. There is a range sensor on wedge - it can be used to automatically flip enemies in range, but this function is disabled by default. Wedge-flipper is reinforced and shock-mounted. Can use its flipper to self-right.

Weapon: 8 &#124; Speed: 5 &#124; Torque: 3 &#124; Armor: 9 (+3 to wedge-flipper) &#124; Traction: 5

MW: Om Nom Nomster
ImageImage
This robot uses a teethy vertical spinning drum mounted on a powered hinge to make a drop on it's enemies. Generally it's 4WD robot, but it can work as 2WD wedge when inverted. Addidional armor plates to protect weapon belt from axebots are optional. Not shown on a picture: small unpowered wheels on back wedgelets. Shown on a picture: how much I suck at making drums. Assume it has a better drum, because the current one is horrible.

Weapon: 10 &#124; Speed: 6 &#124; Torque: 2 &#124; Armor: 7 (+1 to weapon) &#124; Traction: 5

HW: Loadout
ImageImageImage
4WD lifter + pneumatic pickaxe combo, can self-right with both weapons. This robot uses it's long and powerful lifter to get under enemy robot whlie staying out of it's weapon range, lift enemy a bit to immobilise it and then apply pneumatic pickaxe repeatedly. Pickaxe can be locked in end positions to provide Complete Control-style clamping if it has penetrated enemy's armor. Fork lift can go 180 degrees up and 3 degrees down (to get under enemy robots). It has a pair of range sensors on it's front to automatically lift or axe enemy robots in range, but this function is disabled by default. A crude flipper can be mounted on it's pick turning it into Tellu-like combined weapon, but I'm not sure I will ever use it.

Red X is not included.

Weapon: 13 (9 each) &#124; Speed: 6 &#124; Torque: 2 &#124; Armor: 5 &#124; Traction: 4

Loadout B
Image
Loadout's armored modification. The lifter is replaced with a heavy shock-mounted wedge (it obviousy blocks range sensors). I'm not sure how rules cover modifications with stat changes, but this modification is not unrealistic and similar modifications are used in real bot battles.

Weapon: 9 &#124; Speed: 6 &#124; Torque: 2 &#124; Armor: 9 (+4 front wedge) &#124; Traction: 4

SHW: Terminal Velocity
Image
This heavily armored 6WD wedge uses a pair of car starters as secondary motors. These starters overheat in ten seconds, they drain power cells very quickly, but they can provide a short burst of insanely high acceleration and torque for ramming or pushing. This robot's weird shape makes it fully invertible and helps to deflect spinners blows.

Weapon: 0 &#124; Speed: 7 &#124; Torque: 5 &#124; Armor: 13 &#124; Traction: 5

It has 3 optional modules:
Spikes. http://i.imgur.com/edJtSsZ.png A set of spikes mounted on bot's frontal armor plate. Useful for ramming / pushing instead of wedging.

Ball of Steel. http://i.imgur.com/ZJmZNu2.png A steel ball, connected to the bot's rear armor plate. Basically turns the bot into a thwackbot.

Hinged Wedge. http://i.imgur.com/26zUg2C.png A set of hinged attachments to the bot's front wedge. Not nearly as tough as the bot itself.
