Robot Bastards - Sign-ups
Robot Bastards will be my new series of tournaments. It will have CFL stats and CFL style writing.
4 weight classes
30 stat points for wheeled robots -
Speed
Traction
Torque
Armor
Weapon
These categories will mean the same things that they have traditionally meant. The tourney will be round-robin with single elimination playoffs like the others. You'll be expected to roleplay for fights each week much like any other standard tourney.
This will use modified CFL rules which you can find here. Have a good look over these because some things are different! Mainly the damage scale and the weapon armor bonus. Though, to be honest you could probably get away with entering veteran bots with no meaningful changes and 2 more stat points and be totally fine.
I plan to start this thing off between CBNBC and the next LORE.

LW- Conqueror
After its vacation on Isle Delfino (And starring in a spinoff game- Super Conqueror Sunshine- whilst it was there. ), Dreadnought's little brother returns to the fray. Ever since the first LORE, it has been upgraded with thicker armour, brand new motors for greatly-improved speed and power, and new foam-filled tyres for additional Traction and Killsaw resistance. It's also had the plumbing for its Flipper refined, allowing it to be much more powerful and efficient than before.
With its new improvements in place, Conks is back and ready to put the boot in once more.
Speed- 8
Traction- 8
Torque- 2
Weapon- 4 (Front-hinged Low Pressure Flipper powered by CO2 gas)
Armour- 8
Notes- Can quickly self-right using its Flipper. Like its older counterpart, Conqueror is also named after a Royal Navy vessel- in this case, the nuclear submarine HMS Conqueror, known for its role in sinking the ARA General Belgrano in the Falklands War.
MW- Marauder
After its initial run in Ruination: The Beginning, everyone's favourite unkillable tracked machine returns meaner, tougher, and completely rebuilt. Still the same basic design as before, but Marauder's defensive and offensive capabilities have been considerably improved, as have the internals. Not only is it a great deal faster, pushier, and more controllable than before, but has new and much better tracks made out of steel with rubber grips for maximum traction and defence.
It's also got a newly-designed wider Flipping Plate with better wedging capabilities (EDIT: And removable Wedge Extenders for additional purchase when needed.), spring-loaded hooks on both sides of the chassis to keep opponents trapped in place as it flips and shoves them about, and a brand-new reversible Ramming Scoop on the back complemented by reversible hinged skirts (On tapered plates, so that they can function identically either way up.) mounted all round the chassis and tapering into the Flipping Plate at the front for great wedge protection, whilst still maintaining its good ability to climb over obstacles or other robots if necessary.
Improved in just about every way possible, Marauder returns with revenge on his mind- and he's out to flatten everything and everyone in his path to glory!
Speed- 7
Traction- 8
Torque- 4
Armour-9
Weapon- 2 (Linear Actuator-driven Flipping Plate with optional Wedge Extenders, spring-loaded Spikes, and removable Rear Scoop)
Notes- Is invertible, but the Flipping Plate does not fully work when flipped. Interlocking steering prevents the need for it to reverse its controls when flipped, and Scoop can be used effectively regardless of if it is flipped over or not due to being reversible, and has two sets of spring-loaded Spikes- one for either side of the chassis.
HW- Waterloo Sunset
Fresh from an extensive overhaul at Carnaby Street, Waterloo Sunset returns once more following its previous good run in Crazy Bots Blazing Ruin. Basically upgraded in every way since last time (And the removal of the Wedge Stat. ), this British Bruiser now faster and a much stronger pusher than before, a shorter wheelbase and wider wheels for improved control, and a redesigned Scoop on the back for improved resistance against (And control of) powerful Spinners, and can be swapped out for a Wedge (As shown here.) with removable pegs on either side for keeping opponents trapped as it pushes.
Its main improvement however, is in its far greater level of protection than before. Along with the aforementioned improved interchangeable Wedge/Scoop (Or Anti-Spinner Trap, if you want to be technical.), its Linear Actuator-driven Flipper on the front has been redesigned. Not only is it more powerful than before, but it's hinged in the middle of the chassis so it can push opponents regardless of which way up it is, and has a heavy hinged wedges rigged up above and underneath it- this enables a backup wedge to be underneath the Flipper at all times even as it fires for much better protection.
Not only that, but its Traction is better for improved control and manoeuvrability, an improved configuration of skirts for additional protection against wedges, and much stronger armour composed of thicker aerospace Titanium and Aluminium Alloys. This, along with its low centre of gravity and a very low and hard-to-hit chassis, makes it a design more than capable of standing its ground even against the hardest-hitting opponents, and both giving and receiving tremendous punishment.
Even more dangerous than before but still as classy as ever, Waterloo Sunset is one gap that you'll really want to mind.
Speed- 7
Traction- 7
Torque- 4
Weapon- 2 (Reversible Flipper powered by Linear Actuators, and interchangeable Rear Wedge/Anti-Spinner Trap)
Armour- 10
Notes- Completely invertible- interlocking steering prevents the need for reversing its controls when flipped, whilst all weaponry is fully adaptable for either side it can run on.
SHW- Lethal Injection Mk2
After attaining a perfect season and making the last eight in Ruination: The Omen, Ice Cubed Robotics' flagship Superheavyweight returns rebuilt internally for one more go at a title. Brand new motors and an overhauled drivetrain grant it improved Speed, Acceleration and Agility as well as higher torque for stronger pushing, and its armour is improved as well for taking on even the most dangerous opponents in its division.
The new improvements work alongside what helped make it such a success in its previous competitions- including its versatile weaponry, reversible skirts and rear Wedge for additional protection against flanking, patented Anti-Hammer Cushioned Lid and its well-known reliability, all adding up to a very dangerous competitor that should in theory be able to adapt to almost any opponent.
Speed- 7
Traction- 7
Torque- 4
Armour- 8
Weapon- 4 (Bi-rotational Electric Lifter at the front, interchangeable between thick Spikes with bladed tips, a flat Anti-Spinner Plate, and a thick Ramming Scoop.)
Notes- Is completely invertible- its weaponry can rotate either way, and features interlocking steering to avoid the need to change its controls when flipped over. Chassis top is cushioned for protection against hammers.

4WD ring spinner. Sports two different tooth set-ups; the really low curved ones which will be used like 99% of the time, and the wedgy ones which will be used for fun (and won't even be that effective anyway). Regardless, will always have the adjacent hammers on as well, as a precautionary measure for other horizontal spinners, and most axes. I can even start inverted to thwart the long-range and big axe-head overhead weapons. Can also spin the other way for whatever reason.

4WD axebot. Her axe works on a rack-and-pinion mechanism akin to Terrorhurtz. The wedgy bit at the back of the axe allows Tellu to work as a T-Minus style rear-hinged flipper at the rear. Has a new front lifter that works veeeeeery slooooowwwwwly. There are also two diagonally-placed skirts at the sides.

Drastic new redesign, almost completely eschewing everything from her second version. The punching concept is the only thing that remains. 2WD box with a pointed front end. Side skirts that work the same inverted. Puncher for fighting the damn horizontal spinners and extra-wedgy fuckers. Also has front lifting forks that can very slowly lift something, or push into the ground to get under stuff. Also, thwacking tail on the back of the bar to irritate bots with flat sides. :v

LW: O'Malley
A dual bar spinner with tribars. 2WD and has spikes along the outside for style and some ramming/defense purposes. The bars run on the same system.
Speed: 5
Traction: 4
Torque: 1
Armor: 7
Weapon: 13
MW: Sarge
The former MW champion is back with a fresh look. He's still got a fork lifter that can work both ways, but the plow has been greatly expanded for better protection. Additionally the plow is hinged which helps to deter those "up and over" tactics a bit, and makes it harder for other wedges to get under it.

Armor: 8 (+2 to rear plow)

Hey it's the other ToC replacement with a big update! First off he's now got a much lower shape and has added hinged skirting at the front and along the sides. The flipper head has been expanded a bit for better leverage. He's still a 2WD bot and can use the flipper to self-right.

LW: Redline
Redline makes an appearance for no other reason than because I ran out of time to get Slither rendered. 4WD with blazing speed and all that. Front hinged wedge, rear Underall wedge things.
Speed: 10
Weapon: 0
Armor: 8
Traction: 7
Torque: 5
MW: The No Patrol 3
Thanks to Nick S for the design and render!
No Patrol returns again for another chance at the playoffs. Gone is the kinetic flipper, replaced with a wide, tough wedge. Two teeth instead of eight for better bite, and it's invertible again! 4WD for better stability and enough armor to hopefully withstand the arena and itself.
Speed: 5
Weapon: 13
Armor: 7 (+2 for the front wedge)
Traction: 3
Torque: 2
HW: El Chupacabra
Old, obscure one-time rumble entrant comes back out of retirement. Features a generic double-wedge shape, a Probe-style 360-degree lifting arm (with an optional plow attachment) and glowing LED eyes. It runs exactly the same inverted and can do cool tricks with its lifter. NFX took this thing to the finals of Ruination Switcheroo so I'm feeling pretty confident in this thing now.
Speed: 7
Weapon: 4
Armor: 10
Traction: 5
Torque: 4
SHW: Phantasmic Slammer
After a redesign courtesy of Kody, he's back once again to kick ass and take names. Now with rounded front edges and side skirts to keep those spinners at bay, he's ready to finally claim his first title. For clarification it is a normal flipper now, not a 4-bar.

Once a middlweight, it is a fecking skirted drum on omni wheels! What I was considering here is that direction wise your ordinary robot has got 2 attack modes, forwards and backwards, 0

LW - Le-Mans
Hoping to speed into victory, Le-Mans is an inspired design to GBH2, with LED lights from the front to help the driver of the robot where it is going, his battle weapon is a flipper from the front, it can also act like a flamp to "piggyback" opponents and slam them against the wall to cause damage. Not only does it have a flipper but it has a shrimech.
The shrimech is on top of the bot is a piston powered flipper where it helps self right quickly thanks to it's shape. it even has a single curved pad on each side to avoid getting stuck on it's side

"The Colour of Awesome"
LW: No Exit
Two wheel drive front-hinged-and-rear-hinged-at-the-same-time flipper with wedges on the front and back. Black wedges are hinged, red wedge is part of the flipping arm. Green lights signify the front of the machine, red lights for the back. Rounded body shape means that hits don't cause as much damage as they would a boxier design. Also a setup that eschews the wedges in favour of a much wider weapon for fighting spinners and the like. Could scoot about inverted, I guess, but of course it's able to self-right.

MW: I Can't Believe It's Not Barrier
It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, Chris should be pretty happy with this one. An invertible four wheel drive box with wedges on the front and sides, a slightly angled ramming bar on the back to prevent high-siding, shove spinners around and help self-righting, plus a nice lifter in the middle of it all to either control opponents, overturn opponents, or self-right with. Can still drive around inverted if it needs to. I can't see people having a problem with this at all. :D

HW: Super Smash Bros.
Two-wheel-drive identical twins with vertical spinning objects. Angled shields on the front to help fight other spinners and prevent high-siding, mounted on rubber bushings to help soften impacts. There is also a self-righter on the back of each one, comprised of an electrically actuated panel with a cartridge in it. Rounded rear panels to aid self-righting, along with three hearts on the back that light up when the machine is active- one in the middle for the disc, and one either side for each wheel. Buttons on the top don't actually do anything meaningful.

Very kindly sent by Team Covenant comes the lovely Viluy, with two wheel drive to give increased manouverability, a compact spinning weapon on the front flanked by a pair of hinged wedges, and a front-hinged flipper on the back for overturning opponents and self-righting the machine. The majority of the weight of the machine is inside the wedge, so she should be able to get under opponents reasonably well, and the shallow angled sides let her shrug off spinner hits and prevent high-siding. Plus she looks unbelievably gorgeous. Kickin' ass and looking good doing it.

I never thought it would happen, but i made a brick, 3 sides of hinged wedges and hinged wedges/spikes, all hinges have an arc limiter so they don't fold up against the sides, it will bust it's opponents with it's speed

MW: Millenaire de Souffrance
Flipper/SNS combo ? Yes it is, featuring a rear hinged flipper and a thwacking tail, as well as a hinged wedge to get under bots with ease, this versatile machine is there to inflict a millenium of suffering (hence the name) to his opponents, in can't self right due to the tail, nor run inverted, but he can still thwack away wedges that comes into play, plus it's overall decent speed means it won't be easy to catch

a.k.a Golden Blaze RA2 Edition, not much difference from the actual Golden Blaze, except new teeth on the chassis and anti hammer teeth on the bar, still a Melty Brain SNS/HS hybrid, except now it's no longer gonna be ruined by a nerfed weapon retaining the same weapon motor as the original Golden Blaze, yes it has below average armor, but you'll have to get past the teeth and blade first. P:S: he's specialised in sinking Dreadnoughts

My second Superheavy retuns, now invertible, cause rollcages aren't working as good as i hoped, and with a front lifter, it also is quite speedy, invertible, but can't self-right, oh well

Oh yes, he's back for his third successive tournament, still the same old undercutting spinner from hell. He can work as an overcutter when inverted and has a wedge at the back to fend off attacks at the rear. 4WD, still formidable as ever.

A really old design of Kody's from ages past that has been handed to me. The front features a cutting disc, used to slice into armour and hopefully catch bots off guard and throw them in the air. At the back is a front hinged flipper (That whole golden part, with the exception of the hinged wedges in the front next to the disc) It features 2WD

HW: Klarinette III
After undergoing another serious revamp, Klarinette returns to unleash havoc on the Heavyweight division. This time it now features an all new lifting scoop get underneath opponents and tip them over, to compliment it, we have two hammers on either side to boost in aggression, to clamp or just be a plain old annoyance when pinning bots against a wall. Tis invertible and tracked, and weapons can work either way. Both weapons are also on the same axle, but can work independently. The antennae are for decoration only and are removed prior to battle, sorr to disappoint! XD
(Extra note: To help prevent overbalancing, there is a static wedge behind the lifting scoop)

Decided to give this guy a go around the block once more. The former quarter finalist is back with (Hopefully) better stats than before, bit faster, bit more control, but still built like a brick shithouse. Still has tracks and an interchangeable set up with either wedge or plow variations on the front. Both setups are hinged by the way.
