With any luck this will bring the popularity back or at the very least keep the same people here, and turn into a series. Anyhoo...

----

RUINATION: THE BEGINNING

The full set of rules can be found on the main site under the Tournaments section. For the record, though, flying and hovercraft robots are banned. :P

Sign-up Info

- Everyone enters a total of four bots, one from each weight class (Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Superheavyweight) and assigns them stats using 30 points per bot. Points will be divvied up by 6 categories:

-Speed
-Traction
-Torque
-Wedge Effectiveness
-Armor
-Weapon Power

Note: Armor and Wedge Effectiveness may not exceed 16 points combined.

- The battles will take place in a Round Robin style (as opposed to the traditional tournament style) in which each bot will face every other bot once with playoffs afterward to determine the champion of each weight class. The playoffs will consists of the top 4 bots in each weight class. The #1 seed will fight the #4 seed and #2 will fight #3.

- No double entering the competition (which means no smurf accounts or anything like that).

Team Blood Gulch

LW: Dr. Robotnik
The Team Blood Gulch LW undercutter returns with an interchangable set-up! It can use either the bar with the hammer-head ends or a fearsome disc! It also features some spiked wedges at the back for minor wedge defense (and to keep it from being helpless without a weapon). As always, it is able to work as an overcutter when inverted.

SHW: Hector LeMans
The evil crime boss of the 8th Underworld is here! A vertical spinner in the style of of SteveOUT design. It has wheels for the top and bottom if it should ever be flipped over so it won't miss a beat. The spikes give it a little extra protection against wedges so they can't get under as easily and a possibly a little extra buffer against spinners.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

"The Colour of Awesome"

LW: Frequency

Image

Speed: 4
Traction: 5
Torque: 1
Wedge: 1
Weapon: 12
Armour: 7

Motor-on-top spinner design, with 4WD, a backup front wedge, and the patented 'Awesome Rotating Death Object Thing'. Side bars prevent damage to the wheels, and the odd studded grey parts on both sides also help prevent damage to the wheels. Bar is crafted from one piece of metal, and designed to both tear and bludgeon the opponent at the same time, with its pointy end bits. It's basically a lightweight version of AMP, only not as transparent. And slightly more pink. There's not nearly enough robots with pink in them. Not 100% self-right-able, but it should dance around on the cage enough to kick itself back onto its wheels with the bar.

MW: Braveheart

Speed: 7
Traction: 7
Torque: 2
Wedge: 7
Weapon: 0
Armour: 7 (+1 Grey Wedges)

FOR THE GLORY OF SCOTLAND

2WD pushy rammer with a thwacking tail for versatility. Reinforced wedges to help fight spinners and other damaging stuff, plus some teeth to prevent bots going up and over. Works upside down, which is what the odd-looking fin on the tail is for. Wheels are near the front to give the main wedge a lower turning circle, plus a wider radius for the thwacking tail, and can be raised and lowered a few centimeters with some electronic suspension to prevent it getting beached on stuff, while keeping the wedges nice and low. Tail can be used as a wedge if needs be, I suppose.

Who else could it be. =D The Four-Bar Flipper of Fury returns, following a quarter-final and semi-final appearance. 2WD for greater manouverability, angled sides help put it onto its back, where it can self-right. Beneath the robot, there is a small suction fan, which both forces the all-around hinged skirting into the ground due to the pressure difference, and supplements the compressed air tanks powering the flipper, giving a theoretically infinite number of flips. Excess air is vented through the tips of the horns for some fun. Side name lights up in 25 colours (which is enough), and has Strobe and "Spectrum" features, which flash and scroll through the colours respectively.

SHW - Agent X

Image

Speed: 5
Traction: 5
Torque: 2
Wedge: 8
Weapon: 2
Armour: 8 (+2 Plow)

Returning with a few minor changes, such as a lower profile, a longer lifter, and a tougher plow. Also some major changes, like the interchangeable weaponry, or the 4WD system, which runs wheels of different size through a complementary gear ratio so they all traverse linearly at the same rate. Plow also has a small lip to keep it close to the ground, and prevent robots going straight up and over. Weaponry has a full 360 degrees of movement, and the robot is fully invertible. Name reads the same upside down as it does the right way up.

LW
Anti-Virus (4.0)

Image
Image

Anti-Virus is back from ARC: Carnage and rarin' to fragment all you viruses. 4WD low brick with a multi-hinged pointed wedge that is the exact same inverted. There are many ramming spikes - two on the front that flank the wedge. These are mainly to catch robots that try and dodge for the sides. They will either do damage or turn Anti-Virus right into them, and either is beneficial. The four at the back are pure ramming spikes. The bottom two are the main damage dealers and the top two are mainly there in case Anti-Virus gets upended. The golden cage protects Anti-Virus quite a bit.

MW
Luna

Image

Okay, so I've been switching middleweights a lot here. God help me if I bring back Terminus. :P

So the deal here is that Luna is NOT a full-body-spinner as I mentioned in the discussion thread, but an invertible ring spinner. She has three large and slightly-angled blades in different places: one near the bottom, undercutter-style, one in the middle of the ring and at a 120 degree angle to aforementioned blade, and a final blade near the top of the ring, at a 240 degree angle to the first blade. These blades succeed a large wedge blade that travels up Luna's ring like a corkscrew, which may be enough to catch a robot's side and fling them into air, but most likely they'll eat the blades first. Having placed the render on its back, I can assure people that she works the exact same inverted.

The name luna is latin for "moon". Hopefully you all know that by now. :P

HW
Cutie Honey

Image
Image

Cutie Honey has been refreshed. Mostly a Ripper 2012 clone. However, she now has a rounded back so she can self-right easy, and two removable spikes directly bolted onto the flipper. Yes, it is a pain in the ass to remove them, but it can be done. The reason for the spikes is to impale wedges, whether shallow or steep, and warp them. Due to her stats, Cutie Honey can impale them at a power of 9. The spikes can also catch edges and crevasses between armour panels. This is why Cutie Honey has a decent torque value. And yes, she has only 1 point of wedge effectiveness. The reason for this was because I was getting sick and tired of all the fucking 7 wedges around here, so instead of compromising other stats for an 8 wedge stat, I'll defeat them a different way. :P I can still get under bots with 1 wedge point. :P She's 2WD, by the way.

Name comes from a manga and eventual anime series started by Go Nagai back in 1973. Various spin-offs have been made since, and this is the most recent incarnation. Cutie Honey is THE original Japanese kick-ass chick.

Very wide and very low 2WD horizontal spinner with a triangular flywheel like last time. This time however he is an undercutter, and can function as an overcutter if inverted. The 2WD is positioned so that he has maximum turning ability and control with his massive flywheel. Below are some orthographic views that give you an idea on his dimensions.

Dumb thwack with a front plow. No wedges to capitalize on speed and weaponry. Thwack, according to stats can move at 300 RPM and has an extra 5% knockout chance which is already very high due to the 9 theoretical weapon power and high spinup speed. Beware. More traction and less torque this time so it has more control. Now with a spiked end of the hammer for damage capabilities and a front spinner-killer plate. It may be named after fool's gold, but you don't want to fool with this bot.

Clamp/lifter designed off of Shockwave. Side Wheel guards and a rear plow give this guy all he needs to beat stuff up and control basically anything that isn't a pure brick, and maybe even some pure bricks. Technically it's only a 2 weapon power but whatever. Because this seemed to be an issue last season, anything in light green on the wedge is part of the lifter and the hinged part of the wedge is hinged to the bottom of the wedge underneath the lifter. I should also mention that the lifter/grabber thing lifts on a similar arc to Complete Control, so it can self-right if need be as well as completely flip bots using its weapon. Modified from last time so now it has a lifter without a hole in it as well as hinges that don't look like they're hinged to the lifter. Claw is removable in case of a spinner battle.

2WD wedged robot armed with an incredibly powerful Terrorhurtz-style spiked hammer. Side spikes to keep from the infamous Zombie Killer Syndrome as well as obligatory hinged teeth to get under stuff if need be (these are removable). Back after a successful run in FRR Dead Zone, it's the 4WD biohazard style flipper that can run inverted if need be. 2 front hinged "teeth" to get under stuff. For reference, the whole front of the bot is the flipper to capitalize on the weapon armor stat. Blah. Better stats this time. I got rid of 2 wheels this time for better turning.

Redesigned it to make it less messy and just plain better. You'll notice it's a lifter yet the weapon power is zero. What? The front lifting forks are attached to the drivetrain through a differential. Sort of like how Overkill's blade goes up when the robot reverse, the forks are geared to do the opposite: press into the floor as the robot goes forward and pull up as the robot reverses.

The advantage is it frees up weight for other things, the disadvantage is that the forks are always down when you're going forward and up when you're going back--whether it's convenient for me or not. Regardless, it's a clever weapon system that gives ABR the chance to really get under things and control.

MW: Stingray

Uses a hydraulic rambar 2.5x the length of the bot. Similar to Probot and Force Feedback, it "pushes" robots and pokes dangerous spinners with the well-protected bar, slowing their weapons so it can get inside. Now fully functioning invertible (it just looks uglier upside-down).

Stingray has been given the same lifting fork system as ABR. It is basically the same drivetrain as ABR, but on a middleweight, and with the remaining weight going toward the hydraulic ram.

Wedge Effectiveness - 0 (see 0.75*Speed rule)

A robot from the days of vapor yore. Nothing fancy, just straightforward principles that always work well. A fully invertible high-powered spinner with remarkable speed for a spinner and a backup wedge just in case. 3 different weapon configurations. Apologies for using the older version for the thumbnails. Didn't have time to make new renders, but just imagine that concept on the new one, k? Same thing.

The single spherical wheel does the forward/backward motions while the omniwheels on the back do the turning. Because of this, it can strafe, although not very much since its speed is on the slower end. That doesn't matter though, since it's all about the power of the weapon anyway.
