Middleweight: Brimstone
(Theme Music)
So, what, precisely, is this infernal contraption? It's my new middleweight: Brimstone. It's an industrial steampunk-themed melty-brain and single-toothed horizontal spinner combo ironically powered by a lightweight axial diesel engine and armed with an optional flamethrower mounted in the weapon head. The engine has an excellent power-to-weight ratio and can run on a variety of different fuels. Fittingly, Brimstone belches black smoke, is louder than a demonic army on the march, and surrounds itself with a whirling ring of fire. The combination of the smokestack, the high torque of the diesel engine, and the single-toothed design allow it to self-right with ease.
The copper-coloured pipes that adorn its sides are purely ornamental, extremely light, and can be removed for matches. The vents on the sides actually let out excess heat and tire smoke. When spinning up, Brimstone becomes a whirling dervish of white smoke and fire. However, the spectacle does not last long. Its melty-brain system is geared primarily for translational movement, and so only reaches a factor of five rotational speed. Combined with the three point melty-brain spin-up bonus, it enjoys a traction ratio of 5:4. This means that it reaches its peak rotational velocity almost instantaneously, and once spun up, moves with incredible speed. Once this optimal state has been achieved, viewers and opponents alike will wonder and cower as the axial diesel engine rumbles to life and gouts of thick black smoke pour from the smokestack, signalling the activation of Brimstone's primary weapon: the single-toothed cogwheel blade. There are two versions of this weapon: the ornamental one pictured above, and a simplified version that includes none of the extra gears and cogs. With eleven weapon armour, both blades are incredibly tough, making their destruction at the hands of other spinners highly unlikely. So, with all of the description out of the way, let's get down to the nitty-gritty: what, exactly, are Brimstone's stats?
Stats
Configuration One: 5 speed | 16 weapon (11/11) | 7 armour (11 weapon armour)| 1 traction (+3 spin-up bonus) | 1 torque
Configuration Two: 5 speed | 15 weapon (10/10) + 1 flamethrower | 7 armour (11 weapon armour) | 1 traction (+3 spin-up bonus) | 1 torque
