OK, Lian- as promised, here are the two robots I've been meaning to upload. First there's Zadkiel, and then there's the lastest version of DTOM2 (Gamma Version.), now with a heavier wedge and more effective front skirts for extra getting-under-ness. :proud:

It will remain a middleweight under the new name Power Jack (Named after one of Pyro's axes in Team Fortress 2) Here's hoping to some success with it :D

Recently decided to improve on Merry Hampton. Whilst it was good in it's current iteration, it has several weaknesses that really needed to be addressed, so me and Alex combined to create this....

Image

And here he is! Merry Hampton 3, has gone 6WD (May go back to four if turning may be an issue) and all previous problems have been thoroughly addressed. At the front is the huge massive hinged plow, designed solely for fighting axes and spinners, as it'll be tough as hell and the height will prevent axes from causing actual damage to it. Everything has been tightly compacted to prevent any nasty attacks from flanking spinners and wedges. The back wedge is also hinged and can be inverted prior to the match so I have an invertible option. For dealing with flippers and lifters, Merry can also sport at smaller, slightly lighter version of the huge ass plow to help keep it invertible and still have a wedge when inverted to continue to take the fight to them

Overall, drastically improved, and looks set to test if these modifications of making him more effective offensively and defensively come into play.

Quote:

Err, wouldn't that front plow completely beach Merry if he were flipped?
What I was going to say until I saw the last picture. :P Still, if he's flipped I don't think he has many options. Neither set-up would work well at all inverted. Maybe you or GF93 could place the CAD on its back to show me otherwise?

Good CAD though!

Good CAD though!
Well to elaborate, the focus is more to prevent opponents from flipping it rather than to run upside-down (Hence why it's all so tightly-packed with skirts and wedges all-round, and has say, the wedges underneath the main ones.), but the way we've designed it, the wedges should be able to flip over and operate effectively in the event of that happening.

I don't have a CAD right now, but I can certainly arrange one flipped on its head accordingly to show what we mean.

Here's the new Zadkiel 2, greatly provided by Alex V

Image

4WD as usual. A large spinning disc that can be swapped out for an undercutting bar and a better wedge at the back.

It's got a good reach, but it looks really rather ungainly to me. I wouldn't be surprised if it was quite difficult to manouver.

I prefer the first version's drivetrain and weapon better, this one will give you horrible problems manoeuvring around.

I do like the wedge on it, though.

Oh dear... looks like Zadkiel has gone anorexic. :wat:

But yeah, if people though O'Malley had some maneuvering issues, I think you'd be in worse position here.

Generally I'd say you want the wheelbase to be at least as wide as the disc, in order to be able to turn more easily.

Well well well... never thought I'd ever update this thread again after nearly 3 years.

The Servant's Assistant 4, coming out of retirement after it's unbeaten run in it's last tournament to fight again for the working classes! Generally speaking, it's TSA 3 with a revised shape, an improved lifter/flipper. And an anti hammer attachment.
