Mr. AS's bots made in LDD

Post by V900 » Wed Nov 02, 2011 6:25 pm

I use Lego Digital Designer to make my bots because I can't download 3D Rhino. Plus it's way easier to use LDD.

This thread on GTM http://gametechmods.com/forums/index.ph ... 859.0.html

Total Mako klone ahead:

It's called "Fire Elephant", those black bricks are sledge hammers and they spin around and around vertically on the 2 bars. Pretty average wedge. Turns into a crawler if inverted. It's a HW.

STATS:
Speed: 5
Weapon: 8
Traction: 3
Armor: 5

Uses 2 ETeks to spin it's weapon. Drive is 2WD NPC's.

Suggestions?

that's gonna be hella unstable, and you need less speed and more weapon for it to be effective.

SWEET BRO AND HELLA UNSTABLE

Anyways:

No more elephant trunk :C
Stability improved, I hope. Probably worse wedge. It's not like ARC is a wedge-fest to see who can make the best uber-unrealistic pop-up like RA2 anyways, considering one of the most famous bots is a spinner...
NEW STATS:
Speed: 2
Weapon: 11
Traction: 2
Armor: 6

I was thinking a wider wheelbase would help keep it steady, too.

Meh. At least his Lego creations are superior to Sparkey's first drawings...

In fact, to all his stuff save that SketchUp axlebot/discbot. Anyway, the pics in this thread kind of remind me when I had my old Lego blocks back in 2001-2002 and tried to make Robot Wars replicas, lol

(and yes, Sparkey, your best creation (and I do mean that) has stuck in my mind. see what happens when you make GOOD pics?)

It feels wonderful to say my PC died and took that with it, along with everything else.

well i haven't shown anything for two days:
<img src='http://gametechmods.com/../uploads/images/87396Ram and Slam.png' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
stats-
Speed: 7
Armor: 6
Weapon: 5
Traction: 4

It's invertable and even gains a wedge if inverted. The white little studs are the ramming weapons. It's a LW.

My rejected entry for Badnik's rumble league:
Image
Radiant Sunshine

Weapon: 10
Armor: 10
Speed: 2
Traction: 0, obviously
It's a MW. It moves by spinning the bars at very high speeds. Since it doesn't use wheels, it's not too fast to get around the arena, but if it manages to get on top of the other bot, they'll be sorry. Made primarily to kill wedge designs.

This isn't RA2, Crawler designs will destroy themselves without hesitation.

I have to agree there, "crawlers" would be utterly worthless in real life as the opponent would need only to stay back and watch the opponent rip itself apart via floor impacts. It has actually been tried with virtually no success IRL.
