A. Awesome name for a band, a reference for a fiestas tradition from my hometown.

B. Did you really like Amputecture that much? Tetragammaton is probably my favorite TMV song ever, and tracks 3 and 4 are great too, but as an overall album, I thought it was very incohesive.

C. High five. Most people say OK Computer is the best radiohead album. I fucking love Amnesiac. Life in a Glass House might be one of the best endings to an album ever.

I'm very serious about Amputecture. De-loused was good, but I like the middleground they tend to tread between focused and incoherent on their last album.

The Mars Volta are one of those bands that people really disagree on. Whether it's if they're good or not, or which albums are good, or if they're better or worse than ATDI. That's what happens when you combine a few genres that usually don't get along well.

Old Man Gloom live up to the name. Nobody knows about them, unfortunately.

Are all of their songs about burning giant puppets?

Well, most of their albums have elements of homage to Monument Valley, and other parts of Arizona/Nevada. I want to say they performed at Burning Man, but I'm not sure. They're in Boston now.

Most of the songs are about alien monkeys destroying earth, among other things.

I'm sorry, but I can't understand why anyone would like American Idiot over Dookie or Nimrod. I felt betrayed when they came out dressed in black and wearing unicolor ties, like every phony punk band that has come out in the past couple years. Betrayed.

For me, Dookie is way better than Nimrod, and Nimrod is a million times better American Idiot.

For me, it has nothing to do with the black and the unicolor ties and all about the music. I think that the songs are just better. Although, I do like some of their previous stuff.

I completely agree. Who gives a shit how they look? Yeah, Dookie has all the memorable singles, and Nimrod has really good production values, but the reason I think American Idiot is their best is because it is their most complex and its content is incredible. I have a soft spot for concept albums, look at my list, and the story that is told through American Idiot just makes the album that much better. The songs are great, even though some like 'broken dreams' are way too fucking overplayed. Plus there is a song that every single person who's ever been a teenager can relate to. Who doesn't have a Whatshername in their life? I don't really like Green Day that much, but this is an amazing album.

My favorite album from that year was Contraband. Unless I'm mixing up my years, which is quite possible. I don't remember a lot of detalils from my high school years.

Iron Maiden's new album is really good, too. The single they released for it rules.
