Battlebots game: Revival?

Talk about the lastest in Nintendo, X-box and, if you can afford it, Playstation. Don't forget about PCs and handhelds, but if you go old-ass Atari on us, we'll cut you off at the knees.

What with BattleBots coming back to TV, anybody think the BB game that was cancelled way back when will be put back on for current-gen consoles? It's going to be even more awesome now that we have online.

Probably not, unless the BB comeback would be in a much grander scale than it is.

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Although I agree it'd be l33t, I really don't think so. It'd have to have gained quite a bit more popularity than it did back in the days when Comedy Central aired it for it to happen, really. Which is what Josh just said, lol

Well, we'll see how big the revival is. You could have your sister who's never heard of robotic combat watching every single episode in Spring for all we know. ESPN is pretty big I believe, so that's already a step in the right direction.

We made a nice step in the right direction by having a reboot of CFL but I have things might get bigger than ever if Battlebots makes a solid comeback. We can only hope.

As for the video game, no. I don't see a chance in hell for that actually. For one, it existed on the GC and PS2 and they are already dead. I think the only hope is if it gets popular enough, they might make a new video for the Wii or PS3 or whatever.

Actually, I don't believe the PS2 IS dead yet, and a new version altogether for the Wii/360/PS3 is what I was proposing, anyway.

it all depends if BB can get its popularity back. if it can, then yes, if not, no. even if it does, there is still some politics involved as to whether or not there would be a game.

PS2 is not dead, people are still klinging onto them because they don't want to spend the cash on a PS3.

Oddly enough I was just cruising the web for a copy of the PS2 game last week. I found screenshots and even video's of it, and, sadly, the news that it was cancelled. I found a guy awhile back that supposedly had a copy, but not sure if it was legit. Either way, I'm sure there's atleast a few dozen beta copies out there, and I dish out quite a bit to get my hands on one...

Yeah, the PS2 is quite alive and well thanks to the fact that a lot of game companies don't like developing for the PS3, the system is just way too complex.

I still think there's almost no chance for a new game because, ESPN or not, the events that BB has planned are nowhere near the old full-scale seasons. It pretty much looks like a "testing the waters" sort of thing, but I have the feeling that as long as it's on ESPN, it'll never be a regular program again.
