NASCAR ARC Series - 2017/18 Season

Posted: Fri Jun 09, 2017 9:12 pm
by Badnik96
Hello everyone and we're back! Last season, Zach's Good Smile Racing took home the driver's championship, snatching it away from the dominant Kirk Kidd. This season, we're back and better than ever!

Rules:

For this, you can run a team and create drivers to run in it.

TEAMS

Choose a make (Chevy, Dodge, Ford or Toyota)

Choose the number of cars in the team (1-4)

Choose numbers for your cars (0-99 with 00-09 also)

Choose sponsors (must be relevant to 2017 and should be something you would see in real life)

Owners should try to paint their team's cars themselves if they are able. However, I (or Adam) will be able to paint cars for you if you need to.

The mod we will be using is the BullRing 2015 mod. The link below includes a download to that mod as well as paint templates for the cars we will be running.
http://bigdonlinemotorsports.com/Sprintcupseries.html

For your drivers, you must fill out the following stat card:
Aggression:
Consistency:
Finishing:
Qualifying:
Road Course:
Short Track:
Speedway:
Superspeedway:

All cars will have an equal pit crew and vehicle stats, so it's just the driver you need to worry about. You have 680 points to spend. No stat can be higher than 100 and no stat can be lower than 50. The way NR2003 stats work means your stats will vary slightly per race, the number you put in is the high value and the low value will be 20 points lower than that.

For every car your team has, your maximum point total per driver will decrease by 20. The fourth car on a 4-car team will only reduce the total value by 10. That is, instead of 20+20+20 it is now 20+20+10.

You must come up with realistic names for your drivers. It doesn't have to be your real name, but make it realistic. Names like "Mike Hunt" will not be permitted either, because it's just awkward to say.

If you want to co-own a team with another person, go right ahead.

Points system:
46 for first
42 for second
41 for third, etc.
The last place car gets 2 points
1 bonus point if you lead at least one lap
1 more bonus point for the driver who leads the most laps

Introducing the Chase for the Cup! Similar to real NASCAR, for the final eight races of the season (so after Indy), 15 drivers will be locked into the battle for the championship. Winning a race in the regular season guarantees you a spot in the Chase. If there are less than 15 winners by the time this comes along, the rest of the field will be determined by the highest-placed drivers in points. Points will be reset at this point, with each win you earn in the regular season earning you 5 bonus points per win. The driver with the most points after Homestead will win the championship.

The season's schedule is below, it's been heavily modified from last season:

My drivers are as follows:

Kyle Wood - #27 Zippo Chevrolet
Aggression: 80
Consistency: 80
Finishing: 90
Qualifying: 80
Road Course: 50
Short Track: 95
Speedway: 95
Superspeedway: 70

Kyle Wood is the youngest and least-experienced of the three Ignition Motorsports drivers. He made his way up through the ranks, winning on short ovals around the northeast before being noticed by a talent scout, which was his big break. Kyle struggled in his first season of Cup experience last season, but the experience he gained made him hungry for his first win.

Chase Spader - #47 Dr. Pepper Chevrolet
Aggression: 70
Consistency: 85
Finishing: 85
Qualifying: 85
Road Course: 60
Short Track: 90
Speedway: 90
Superspeedway: 75

Chase Spader has been with Ignition Motorsports for years. He was the team's driver when it was first founded back in 2011 and he's stuck with them ever since. Chase picked up a win and a surprisingly solid points finish last season despite 7 DNFs (a series record). This season he's hoping fortune will turn more in his favor, as he really feels like he has a chance at the championship.

Scott McHale - #98 Auto Zone Chevrolet
Aggression: 90
Consistency: 75
Finishing: 85
Qualifying: 85
Road Course: 55
Short Track: 90
Speedway: 95
Superspeedway: 65

Scott started in racing at a young age, and made his way up through the ranks of dirt racing thanks in part to his rich father, who bankrolled all of his entries all the way up to the higher rungs of the sport. While most dismissed him as "just another rich kid" at first, he made a name for himself early on in his career and blazed a trail to a Truck Series championship. This caught the attention of Ignition Motorsports, who hired him to drive in the Cup Series for 2013. He's been there since, and despite not being able to win last season he made a strong run at the title. Scott wants to break this winless streak and use the momentum to carry him into the championship.

Team 57 Racing

#4 - Takumi Fujiwara - Initial D Chevrolet

- After conquering the Japanese mountainside drift circuit, Fujiwara was encouraged by his friends and rivals alike to take his racing overseas, and after much consideration, he has brought his immense talents to this side of the Pacific Ocean. He proved himself last season claiming multiple 1st place finishes and the #1 overall points spot. <del>Good Smile Racing</del> Team 57 Racing has re-signed Takumi for this NASCARC season.

#59 - Slaine Troyard - osu! Chevrolet

- Slaine hails from Russia, although he's spent the past ten years living in America. Before moving to the states he had some high-up friends and could have made it big, but he let his emotions get the best of him and crossed the wrong person. He was forced to leave his life in Russia behind and move to the States. Since then he has been practicing racing, hoping one day to make a new name for himself. He is also a closet weeb, but thats not really anything to hold against him. <del>Good Smile Racing</del> Team 57 Racing appreciates his strong drive and has signed him for the upcoming NASCARC season.

Delta Racing chiming in

#42 - Jimmy Cacciatore-Catanzaro - JetBlue - Toyota

Once a young car mechanic, who was also known as one of the best street racers on the circuit, Jimmy lived a hard life. He was able to raise enough money to support himself, and was (and maybe still is) easily able to defend himself on the streets. After unsuccessfully running from the police, he finally realized that what he was doing was wrong. He wanted to change. After spending three months in jail, he knew that this was his time to fix everything. But he loved racing so much, and wondered if there was a way to continue doing what he enjoyed most. After seeing Scott Jackson win a race on his apartment television, he knew that was what he wanted to do. He has now officially made it with the help of the Delta Racing group, wanting to prove himself in the #42 car, and turn his life around completely.

He's still a bit of a hot head though :v: But he knows road courses like the back of his hand, and just like his street racing days, he doesn't let anything get in his way when he's on the course.

Aggression: 99
Consistency: 90
Finishing: 83
Qualifying: 61
Road Course: 93
Short Track: 73
Speedway: 61
Superspeedway: 80

#99 - Atticus Simms - Under Armour - Toyota

Atticus Simms is a 6'8 good natured, serious man who is popular among friends. He is the son of racing legend* John Simms. He hated that he was never able to truly see his father, as he was always racing, and was almost never home. It wasn't until in his later years, that he was able to spend time with his father, who ironically encouraged him to try racing, and one day following in his footsteps by making it into NASCAR with his father's old number 99. Atticus was hesitant, but he finally decided to try racing on a track. He has never let go of the wheel since. Delta Racing knew about his father's amazing driving skills, and was quickly signed on. He wishes to make his father proud, happily driving the #99 car and continuing a family tradition.

He's not one to really pick a fight with anyone, but he's very well known in the racing community, and has an outstanding finish in every race.

Consistency: 80
Finishing: 90
Qualifying: 100
Road Course: 70
Short Track: 80
Speedway: 90
Superspeedway: 60

*This is just for the backstory btw

#14 - Francesca Reyes - Amazon - Toyota

Francesca Reyes is young, Filipino, and usually quiet but enthusiastic. She was originally hoping to join the WNBA after having a very successful career at basketball in college, until a season ending injury in her last year forced her to miss out playing in the professional league. She soon learned about racing and later joined a small group, where she thrived. This caught the eye of Delta Racing, who noticed her great potential, and was asked if she wanted to sign with them and join the professional setting of NASCAR. Despite being relatively new, she has signed on, and now hopes to take the world by storm in the #14 car.

She has some fight in her, but is always focused on keeping consistent, and has decent knowledge on how to race on most circuits

A British ex-rally driver, James is approaching this season as a fun challenge over being a competitive endeavour. His background as a rally driver makes him very quick on road courses, and short tracks are still familiar. However, his lack of experience of slip-streaming and running in a pack could cost him in races. Also rather rich, so is almost entirely self-funded, running on a shoestring budget with few sponsors.
