Lawson Racing seems to have missed on this restrictor plate package. Here's to hoping that once we get into the actual pack racing we will all be able to get up to the front and avoid the big one.

Two tenths off from the leader. Bad qualifying spot, but I am confident Lawson Racing will figure things out.

Second last in final practice. Then Ki decides there is a 4th gear and gets 8th in qually. Don't know what happened to Kristjansson. Somehow 2nd in final practice then a meh 28th in qually. And I'm starting 13th, which probably means I'm going to be right in the middle of the big one with nowhere to go.

And here are the results for this week's race at Daytona! Snuffy McAirborne started on the pole, but quickly lost the lead to Karl Smith before he could lead a lap. Early on, racers were three wide as everyone jockeyed for position. Smith and Todd Eaton held the top two for three or four laps before Takumi Fujiwara snagged it on Lap 10, where he stays for a while. His teammate, Aiko Asakura, sneaks into 2nd a few laps later, and the teammates hold point until Jaelon Sapp passes them. The field begins to spread out at this point, and passing is less common. Kirk Kidd then steals the lead from Sapp midway through his first lap as leader, meaning Sapp was scored as having led zero laps. The top 4 seems to settle into position around lap 30, with Smith, Kidd, McAirborne, Fujiwara and Alex Valentine as the top 5, as well as Adam Lawson having a solid run near the front. Green flag pit stops begin on lap 33, which ends up splitting the field into a bunch of smaller packs spread out across the track. The lead pack consists of Ron Waffle, Will Harvey Jr., Alex Valentine, Scott McHale, Takumi Fujiwara and Karl Smith. However, during the pit stop cycle, Chase Spader collides with Kirk Kidd on pit road, and the two collect Pinky Machibuse as well. Spader retires due to the damage, while Machibuse goes several laps down as his pit crew works on the severely damaged vehicle. As the race continues, the cars near the back of the field are caught by the leaders, as George Plinkleton and Kirk Kidd (who lost a lot of momentum as a result of the collision on pit road) go a lap down. Not much else of interest happens until the second wave of green flag stops on lap 66. After this wave cycles, the top 5 have about a 5-second lead over the rest of the field: Smith, Fujiwara, Harvey, Valentine and Waffle seem to have the race on lockdown. As the race nears the end, it becomes apparent that fuel may become an issue, and teams strategize and attempt to save as much fuel as possible in order to make it to the end. With about 20 laps to go, Adam Lawson pits under green due to some technical issues, and ends up going 6 laps down. Karl Smith leads for most of the final third of the race, with only Fujiwara behind him (the rest of the top 5 had lost the main pack due to some lapped cars). However, with 2 laps to go, it becomes apparent that Smith does not have enough fuel left to finish, and pits, leaving Fujiwara out front by himself. Despite some drivers running out of fuel, like Snuffy McAirborne and Bjorn Kristansson, Fujiwara does not and is able to hang on the final two laps and win the inaugural NASCAR ARC series race!

Goddammit Chase Spader! You robbed me! You and your recklessness! You'll pay for that!

Also, seems like Aislin led a couple of laps somewhere in there. I'm strangely encouraged despite my team actually doing quite poorly.
