Josh's Game Reviews

Talk about the lastest in Nintendo, X-box and, if you can afford it, Playstation. Don't forget about PCs and handhelds, but if you go old-ass Atari on us, we'll cut you off at the knees.

Josh's Game Reviews

Even if I'm annoyingly inconsistant and slow about doing them, I have a general hobby of doing game reviews so I figured I'd go ahead and post the ones I have done so far here. I'm trying to go through most of the Sonic franchise at the moment (and I want to get Godfather II up as well to go with the first one), but I'm always up for suggestions as doing reviews that other people want to see is a lot better motivator than just doing ones I want to do.

The 10/10 Club:

Grim Fandango
Portal 2
Mass Effect 3
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Super Mario 64 - Review to be written

Other Game Reviews:

Mass Effect - 8.5/10
Mass Effect 2 - 9/10
Alpha Protocol - 7.5/10
The Godfather: The Game - 7/10
Sonic CD (Xbox Live Arcade) - 8/10
Sonic Unleashed - 7/10

Terrible Games:

Sonic The Hedgehog 2006
Extreme Paintbrawl

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

I haven't played a lot of those games, but I like the reviews for them. I finally know where Commander Shepard came from, lol.

Also your review of The Godfather was pretty intriguing. I'm a recent Grand Theft Auto 4 player and I've never been a fan of the GTA series of games until now. I may have to check Godfather out since I still have a PS2.

It's funny, I've never played ANY of the GTA games (nor was ever interested in doing so). I got the game just because it was a game based around The Godfather (which happens to be my all time favorite film). It also might be the only non-Sonic game I've technically bought multiple copies of. I bought the PS2 version when it first came out (and was one of probably only 11 people in the world that bothered getting the Collectors Edition version :P ) and then later got it again on the 360.

I think I mentioned in the review that I think the Wii version is the best release of it, but the PS2 version is still good.

Rather ironic, considering my Wii's pretty much broken down. :(

Also, that first post reminds me that I need to play more Sonic. I have Sonic 4 Eps 1 & 2 in my Steam library and I haven't touched them! :o

Yeah, they're on my "Will be reviewed list"...

I'll say right now, if you make it through Episode 1, Episode 2 is definetly better.

I wish. If somebody was actually paying me for these I'd be churning them out a LOT more frequently. :D

Getting paid to review video games? A dream come true, that would be. :P

Great review. I totally agree with everything that was said, thought I'm not really as good at putting it out there as you are. :)

For anyone interested I've added a new review! Well technically just one NEW review since I wrote the Sonic 2006 one last year, but never actually updated it here. But yeah, two terrible game reviews!

Those two also link to a different webpage than my Gamefaqs one since another friend and I created a whole separate webpage for game reviews and the like as a sort of vanity project (and it's been lying mostly dormant for a year lol and some things really need updated). I'm hoping to pump some kind of life back into it so hopefully I'll put up some more relevant reviews and stuff in the near future.

playzooki

Jun 20 2014, 01:57 PM

lol if you wanna do terrible reviews do big rigs[/quote]lmao, well I've never played that one and I don't particularly enjoy playing bad games for the sake of it.

I will say this though, at least with Big Rigs I've seen enough videos where people have found a way to get some form of amusement out of that game. This is not the case with Extreme Paintbrawl. There is no laughter to be had. Only oppressive, soul-crushing boredom and frustration and the dawning horror of realization that the so-called developers were able to milk this into 4 game franchise.
