"(Flamethrower, flamethrower!)

I can assure you that it is always fun to henchman for me, good sir. The refills are free, the dental package generous and the Secret Santa involves secretly mugging Santa! You don't get that over at Boxmore, I can tell you that for a tin of biscuits!

And speaking of telling, it would be nice to know the identity of the geriatric git holding up my big rescue scene right now. Go on, granddad, what's your deal?

(Well, don't just float there, George! Get them over here ASAP!)"

Cyrus waves his gloved hand towards his heart, closing it into a fist. "You hurt my heart, chasing after a bounty set by a criminal. In the long run, this is a fight for who owns that castle and rules over the city. do you," here he waves the gloved hand at the potential assailants, "really want it to be in the hands of some vagabond, or do you want it to be ruled by a proper woman, who seeks to defend the city from such menaces?"

VENGEANCE
Vengeance spins round the corner and blasts another aged assassin with a blast of fire, while the original leader ducks behind a pillar of his own.

"Tell you what, throw in a company car, an expenses card and I can work from home on Wednesday's and maybe we can talk about it. My name is Conrad VonBusiness, this establishment you have decided to assault is the Senior Assassin Bowls Association, where members of our profession can relax in the rare cases where we reach this age."

Following that Vengeance is forced to duck as another high velocity ball ricochets round the room before returning to the man's hand.

"So, what is your pitch Professor?"

George reports that some of those new minions may start to filter in within the next ten minutes or so, but he's not sure exactly how competent any specific individuals are, and some won't be here for hours yet.

RICHFIELD, CYRUS, DURG AND THE BEING

As Cyrus waves the celebrity infused glove, the beings stagger backwards a bit as they take the effects in a variety of ways. The polecat-griffon and the stapler handed woman begin to swoon, but the ham-o-mancer seems to force his will past it with considerable effort while the pizza golem shrugs it off entirely, perhaps lacking the biological functions to process such emotions. It looms over the group.

"Is that so? I didn't think the League of Assassins was specifically a bowls league. Then again, can't say I'm surprised. The Demon's Head is a fair old fossil himself by this point."

I do hope you tip the gardeners well here. They'll have a devil of a job getting your ashes out.

VENGEANCE

The lawn explodes in a gout of fire, spending ashes of grass drifting through the wind. Vengeance strides through the smoke, and behind him, his new army begins to arrive... a Manticore, three punk rock fairies and a French teacher representing the first wave. They engage their foes, and while the French teacher is knocked out almost instantly, the remaining assassins are sufficiently distracted to allow Vengeance to continue his quest.

Reaching the lawn, it seems the fire has burnt through a covering to reveal a hidden passage below, and as this seems to fit the description of where the rest of the Guild were located, he heads on down.

It's not long before he locates his fellow villains, they are locked in a cages pretty early into the complex. More interestingly though is that the path onwards seems to be far more heavily fortified - so if captured supervillains don't need that much security, what does?

Tellu thanks the chimera as well. She then sets out to talk to the rest of the crew one-by-one, all while trying to configure her new cybernetic hand.

"Curiouser and curiouser... What are you hiding here, you old farts?

Comrades! Thank hell you're still in one piece. Don't worry about Gurdy. She's still in the castle, but back up to strength again. I have every faith she'll be a thorn in Sikander's side long enough for us to turn the tide.

Now, let's see these cages... Lockpick or hammer mode? Lockpick or hammer mode? Decisions, decishammer mode. HIII-YA!"

Apologies for the absence!

VENGEANCE

Vengeance swiftly bashes the cages open, freeing the remaining members of the Guild of Nefariousness. To his right though, the larger doors deeper into the complex look designed to resist such simple attacks as a quick bludgeoning.

Tellu takes everyone except:

- Zn, who literally can't be moved from the ship
- the lavender rhino
- the mechanical christmas tree

She goes to confirm this with Scarlett as well.

TELLU AND SCARLETT

The pair gather all of the remaining crew members and announce their verdict; all of those who they decide will get to go home with them are profoundly thankful. The three remaining options take it with various degrees of dignity. Zn takes it with humility – his own immortality and Captain's pride gives him an acceptance of his fate that the others lack. Prince Rataxas XIV and Christine Tingle take it far more aggressively and threaten and kajole the pair, but even as the Wamp Engine drains the blood from Scarlett and Rataxas charges, the eight of you vanish in a maelstrom of red energy as you leave this place and head back towards the city of Melded...

…...

The energies of the Wamp Engine subside and Tellu and Scarlett find themselves in a random backstreet in Melded, the crash survivors around them cheer for joy at the sight of a comparatively normal prime plane. They thank you profusely before running off in various directions to find their way homes. Sammi the gnome stops for a while and declares that she will arrange a reward with her company for rescuing them, but for now she needs to investigate the possibility of rescuing the other survivors and leaves you.

With you both now left alone, you head off, before eventually finding your way to a section of the city you recognise...

VENGEANCE

As the cage is bust open and his villainous compatriots free themselves from the confines, the Professor turns his attention to the larger door, and after a few minutes of tinkering, the whole thing pops open, revealing a much larger complex within. It is a not insubstantially sized base and the villains travel through it, slaying robotic sentries as they go, before eventually arriving at an inner chamber...

As Vengeance bursts through, flanked by his minions, he's not precisely sure what he was expecting, but the reality wasn't one he had really considered. Locked around the perimeter of the room in a number of stasis tanks are figures he recognises from his arrival here.... a woman made of light, a duck in a Fez, a purple alien centipede like creature, an orang-utan and, not matching his memory of the time... a middle aged black woman.

For some reason Vengeance does not yet know, Sikander has been collecting his fellow arbiters...

RICHFIELD, CYRUS, DURG AND THE BEING

The Polecat-griffon and the Stapler-handed woman faint on the floor as Cyrus blasts the power of the glove out at them beyond their capacity to with stand it, but the ham-o-mancer and pizza golem stagger forward with menace. Durg engages the Pizza golem with fiery rage, slamming into it, but getting his weapons clogged up in scalding hot cheese. A flurry of ham-o-mantic energy wraps around Cyrus and his gloved hand is suddenly clad in garlic sausage slices, negating the power of the glove and forcing them to engage in more traditional means.

But with only two combatants remaining, the fight doesn't last that long and before long, the others are sitting down enjoying ham coated slices of pizza while they ponder their next moves...

Cyrus decides to call Bear in Mind – the personification of Bears could be a powerful ally, and with
him being one of final competitors, involving him in proceedings in some way is inevitable.

Durg has no immediate plans at this precise moment, so takes another big slice of pizza...

Richfield sees an opportunity too here – after a bit conversation within his contacts in government it seems politicians are freaking out somewhat over the whole Sikander situation. What's more, the deputy mayor seems to have been injured by falling shards of Vengeance's crystal, and so the spot is vacated and the people seem to want a man of action. Having read into these thugs they've just beat up, it seems like they were known no-goodniks....perhaps with a little bit of prompting some of the channels this could turn to his advantage after all.

The Being decides to wants to get Ser DeMerfrall back and ponders this. There is only person who might have an idea of how to do such a thing – the one that caused him to get lost to begin with. It was time to pay another visit to Lissa Burrows; the one person who might be able to help the Being retrieve the elder knight... After questioning various people, he tracks her down to the library again and quizzes her on the subject.

“What you ask.... it's no small thing. It might be doable, but if you want to do it, you will risking everything. To go to the place where he is kept.... it will involve facing beings who have never understood the concept of human sanity to begin with...”

BEAR IN MIND
After prolonged negotiations, Bear in Mind eventually relents and agrees to hand over the Honey to the Bees who rejoice even as they carry it off. The other bears present grumble slightly at this capitulation, but the Bees themselves are eternally thankful and pledge their aid however Bear in Mind sees fit.

Then for a moment, a shearing sensation through Bear in Mind's essence; a moment of fracture, as it seems like he is shearing away from his own basic existence as the concept of bears.

...Bears do not return honey to bees...
...Bears do not return honey to bees...
...Bears do not return honey to bees...

He recovers, and manages to bring himself back together... but he realises that many more such conceptual schisms could potentially be fatal. A deep crack seems to still reside in him from the experience, a weakness in the very depths of his existence.

As they leave, one of the bees leaves they pause for a minute and mention something to Bear in Mind.

“Thank you for your kindness in returning this to our people. It means more than you know. I'm sure glad that Sikander fellow sent us a letter to tell us it had been found!”

Before he gets a chance to respond, his communicator buzzes... Cyrus is contacting him?

Tellu looks for a shop that sells any combination of weapon/armour/misc, and tries to convince Scarlett that she should acquire some items as well, although she won't force her to.

TELLU AND SCARLETT

Tellu notices a nearby item shop named "Hyperion's Deluxe Artifact Emporium"

It seems to work on a similar basis to earlier shops in that there are three levels of prices: Deluxe, Ultra-Deluxe and Deluxgasm costing 2000, 4000 and 6000 each respectively.

You can select from the categories: Fine Craftsmanship, Magic, Technology, Armour and Miscellaneous

Before making a purchase, Tellu feels it would be wise to contact a few of the arbiters. Fearing Sikander is doing some sort of skullduggery with the communications, however, Tellu just sends them a short message to Cyrus, Richfield, and Durg, with directions on how to get to where she and Scarlett are.
