THE BEING

The Being reaches out with it's polymorphic powers...

From the Jedi, it suddenly finds itself connected to some strange "Force" that connects living beings, and with it some accompanying powers - a preternatural reaction speed, the ability to "push" objects with this power and the ability to have brief snippets of over-riding of the control of weaker willed beings.

From the Phoenix, it receives it's ability to be immune to flame and to reincarnate upon it's death in a burst of fiery glory, though you suspect that doing so would entirely reset all your absorbed powers (OOC: short of a natural 20, gauged on each).

From the Demonic Man, you find that despite appearances, it actually get's it's power more from mutation than magic. You gain it's enhanced eyesight able to see it pitch blackness, as well as a constant slight smell of burning.

From the Dragon, you find the variety of it's powers hard to focus on, but this time remain beyond your grasp - but there is the strange feeling of your skin and bones thickening making you substantially more resistant to injury.

From Ser DeMerfrall you find the strength you previous had from Durg reforming - if anything you are now a little less strong, but that is more than made up for by the control it brings, a steely precision and muscle memory honed to best redirect a foes strength against it.

This is surely a formidable set of powers to have at one's disposal, but there is still the question of the sword before you can feel comfortable in these powers. DeMerfrall exacmines the golden ring that was the cause of his predicament carefully before responding.

"I advise you to put that sword down on a flat surface for a moment - we need to remove the ring before we can progress lest the Golden Man try to use you in my place. Without specialised knowledge on how to remove it, trying to do so manually may be perilous - it might have defenses. After we have resolved that though, I think you and I should pay SONA Industries a visit..."

RICHFIELD
The crowd seems hesitant at first, but as Richfield's precise oration continues they seem to come around to him very quickly. They never expected an arbiter to so easily and sincerely take their side, and before long they are shouting their life stories and grievances in his direction. The two biggest candidates seem to be the deceased Doomforall in Mind, but also the decidedly still living Volgorthan. They blame them both for the destruction of the city and in the case of the Volgorthan specifically, want guarantees that such a monster won't be allowed to win. You also hear a smattering of shouts relative to anti-corruption rules for arbiters and those who want the names of the remaining combatants made public.

TELLU
The two sleazy business guys exchange cold glances.

"Don't you know who this is? We could have you both fired right now if we wanted to."

"Tell you what, you clean this up now and we'll drop your friend off with the photocopier girl down the hall from my office, I'm sure she'd be up for a different kind of servicing than she's used to"
They both find this hilarious and laugh a really really punchable laugh.

This was progressing more smoothly than he could have hoped. Inwardly, Richfield was very pleased. It was gratifying to know that simple psychology could transfer so easily to different cultures.

"First things first, we need to organize properly. We'll need to have a dedicated secretary to take notes and properly document requests. At that point we can better outline our goals for when it comes time to make the important decisions. I imagine we have some time to accomplish this as several of the arbiters are currently deployed on missions to find out more about the remaining competitors and finding ways to deal with the less desirable ones."

It would probably also be a good idea to discourage the populous from reaching out to the other arbiters without his direct involvement, particularly at this early stage.

"Given that I have already gained the trust and cooperation of most of the arbiters who have not seemingly abdicated their responsibility and vanished completely, I'm confident that I will be able to serve most proficiently as official liaison between them and you as the public. In full disclosure, some of them are not the most easy-going sort, so someone unknown approaching them may not go very smoothly. As a fully qualified and licensed psychiatric practitioner, I have years of experience in dealing with highly eccentric personalities."

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Could've been worse, could've been better. Scarlett attempts to salvage the situation.

"Ah, I thought this might happen. See, I want to chase the Giant as far from the city as possible, keep the damage from getting any worse while I and the other arbiters sort everything out. And you may have noticed an issue: one person ain't exactly Giant-chasing material. But a whole big crowd? Now that, I think, will scare the Giant out of his pants, and he'll be sure to get out of here, and stop causing damage, as quick as he can. And you all seem to have that certain fighting spirit so vital to making this work Whaddya say, huh? Who here wants to help make history?"

Scarlett knows she just ended that totally-improvised-but-somehow-almost-logical plan with the cheesiest line possible. She doesn't care. She knows she's already made too big of a mistake to back out of. Giant-slaying crowd or not, she only wants to leave without getting punched in the face... and she's ready to raise a barrier and bolt for the door if things go bad.

Edward doesn't quite read into what's going on yet, but tellu seems to be rather uncomfortable about going with them, so... "uh, yeah, sure... okay, I'll follow y'all"

RICHFIELD
The crowd is very receptive to Richfield's nudging and soon he has them eating every word he says. The Pike-fish Man turns out to take minutes at his local Tennis Club Meetings and volunteers to document things as they happen. The crowd seems largely convinced by his power-play about not speaking to the others too - they'll almost certainly turn to him first. With the group listening to everything he is saying, he now needs to work out what to do next.

VENGEANCE
Vengeance sits back and watches his threefold plan unfurl before him. These villains are competent but Vengeance decidedly gets the impression that they lack confidence outside their respective comfort zones. But they do show a bit of initiative in places. Gurdrothorakkas enters the bank through the front door and causes a commotion, demanding to see the manager and intimadating the others, Sir Kireepins sneaks in and lays some hyper conductive wiring through the vents and positions the end of it outside. A few makeshift barriers to channel things later and when Gurdrothorakkas passes the particular vault and blasts her fire in a show of draconicrage, the whole bullion pile it melted to liquid and drains out the bottom of the room in liquid form directly into the sewers. A few minions wait at the outlet below to collect some of it, which is easier said than done. It didn't quite go perfectly however - Gurd ends up with her gold assets frozen for a year in retaliation to roaring at the staff while Kireepins has to spend the next week trying to get sewer out of his fur.

A more positive bit of news comes from Darksein - apparently one of Vengeance's fellow arbiters has disconnected DeMerfrall from the control ring, meaning the knight will no longer be a concern.

In a more tactical maneuver, Ingvar buys out all the companies he can which supply SONA, and immediately ups the prices of all components exponentially, at the same time he looks at his own business interests and begins to sell his own companies items at a loss to undercut several core SONA assets. This is a very expensive maneuver, and while it sends SONA's value as a company into a nosedive, it has suddenly made his own Board of Directors very wary of him - he's just spend in one go a lot of accumulated trust!

George however has decidedly different luck - he successfully infiltrates the office and finds E.L.L.I.E but the reaction is severe and not at all in the direction he expected. He follows "smooth romance protocol 5", but E.L.L.I.E really isn't going for it at all.

"Let me stop you right there. There are two things I think we both need to be clear about - firstly, I'm only interested in other femmebots, secondly I take my profession very seriously, and whenever some random robot comes out of nowhere and attempts to seduce me, the reason is inevitably because they are trying to attack the business as a whole. As our share prices have just tanked out the blue from unexpected buyouts, I can only assume the business is under attack. As such...."

It turns out that the next bit wasn't so much new words as a tethered harpoon that pierces through George's external plating and delives an EMP pulse inside his protections. George drops out of the air with a clunk, and all of Vengeances communications channels with George go dark...

SCARLETT

Scarlett leads her angry mob to the area where the Giant is,winding there way through the ruined streets until before they stands the titanic armored creature. You sense the mood change drastically, as if the iar turns cold. The mob was all for the idea of fighting the giant, but face to face with it, it suddenly seems an entirely different proposition. Scarlett notes people at the back of the mob slink away into the streets again, leaving only a small contingent of the ones at the front who can't be subtle about it. You sense that if you want to turn this thing around and get out, now is the moment to say something.

CYRUS AND TELLU
Edward quickly cleans up the coffee spill, and is ready to head upstairs if Tellu is - they can always improvise once they are up there.

The Being feels all sorts of new powers coursing through its body. It is excited for the chance to test them out. However, first, it agrees with Sir DeMerfrall, placing the sword on the table.

"Perhaps we can use...the Force to move it," The Being says, its voice barely above a pensive murmur. It glances at the green woman with the head-tails. "If that would be advisable..."

THE BEING

The Jedi examines the sword and states that if they work in concert, they should be able to remove the ring with a bit of luck.

TELLU AND CYRUS
After the spill is cleaned up, the four beings get inside a lift for what is probably the most awkward such trip in either Edward or Tellu's lives. The auras of both of these two resemble nothing less than mucous to Edward. However, this is getting a questions free ride to the top floor, just below the helipad. Even as they pop out of the lift though, the two immediately grab Cyrus by the shoulders and lead him to a small room, knock heavily on the door, and shove Cyrus through.

"Hey Photocopier Girl! We've got a toy for you! Have fun!"

For a second Cyrus is rather confused, seeing what is effectively a small cupboard contained a pot plant, a desk chair and a photocopier. A Moment later though, strange eldritch mists swirl around the photocopier and suddenly it changes shape into a young woman wearing oversized glasses. She looks utterly mortified.

"Oh I hate them I hate them I hate them.... wait..? You aren't actually employed here are you? I make copies for HR, and I've definitely never seen your face before."

She looks for a moment like a rabbit in headlights, and then some steely resolve crosses her face.

"Listen, if you don't work here, you are probably here to steal secrets. I know basically everything about SONA through copying it, if you teach those two shits a lesson, I'll give you anything info want in exchange"

MEANWHILE

Tellu is lead through to the creepiest office she has ever seen. There is a desk in the corner, but more notable is the leopard-print giant sofa, the spirits bar, the purple wallpaper and the fact that the walls are covered in photos of these two. The whole effect makes Tellu feels nauseous.

"May we get you a drink?"

VENGEANCE
The Stone Provides you with the location you need - the Head Offices of SONA, and the three of you arrive outside by Tele-limo as soon as you can get there. The lobby has some security - nothing that you can't handle but it might slow you down, while you could probably scale the side of the building or fly up to it for a quicker entry, it might make for a more difficult escape. The choice is yours.

O-ohhh no... this is bad. Bad bad bad bad baaaad... !

Tellu feels her throat going dry.

Better say something... at least they haven't directly threatened me with anything yet.

"A-a glass of water, perchance?" she says timidly. Ugh! I swear I'm going to punch Cyrus the next time I see him!

Tellu tries really hard not to break her composure, though her mind is a whirlwind of doubt.

O-okay, settle down. Let's see here. Organ guy. Guy with a jackal head. Great. So they're just as abnormal as me, likely way worse though. Therefore, that means they'll probably have some stupid powers that won't make escape easy. They're probably suspicious as all hell...

I hope you're not intending to do what I think you are...

Quiet. For now, let's just... play along. We'll save the violence for when it's entirely necessary.

You imbecile! It IS entirely necessary! You want them to lower your defenses, if you know what I mean?!

It won't come to that...

"S-so, um..." Tellu speaks again. "Is there something you wanted me to take care of?"

"uh... well... that wasn't exactly my original plan when I got here, but yeah sure why not!" Cyrus said, pleasantly surprised at how things were going. "Knowing the woman I came up here with, she'll probably take care of them herself... still..." he trails off, focusing hard with his auric powers, looking to see what was going on with their auras in the room they took her to (d20 roll: 20), mostly to make sure she really doesn't need his help. As he focuses, he tries sparking some conversation. "so uh, when I say not interested in secrets, I'm actually kinda sorta more interested in getting the Golden Man arrested for mind controlling one of the tournament contestants and rigging the tournament. You happen to know more about why he'd be into that sorta thing?" he asked, awkwardly scratching his head.

TELLU

"Are you sure I can't interest you in any of my rather exclusive liquor collection? Angel's Tears Brandy? Cairn bee Mead? Dwarven Mushroom Wine? All from the finest distilleries..."

As you are turning round, you see the Jackal man reclining on the leopard print sofa with his shift buttons undone done to the waist

"If you are in more of a rush however, I am in need of some... cleaning services..."

CYRUS
Edward sees the auras of the two sleazy business guys, and it's pretty clear what mood they are in. You also see whatever aura reaction is appropriate for Tellu, (OOC: I'm assuming mortified at best, but just go with whatever Kody says). You kind of note a bizarre room between you and them, but you hadn't noticed a door to it from the corridor, and it contains a few things that are very loosely sentient in a very... charged mono-emotional way. Small things. On the roof above are two security guard types, but this upper floor seems otherwise currently empty.

Meanwhile in response to the question "I don't know anything about the Tournament, but I can certainly give you stuff that'll get the Golden Man arrested for illegal private military buildup he's currently doing. Probably enough to bring this entire company to the ground."

BEAR IN MIND

The Sea Wizard teleports the pair of you to the Cultural District outside the library and immediately starts peering at the building ahead of you with concentrated interest. It seems clad in a multitude of layers of energies - some a polygonal mesh, some amorphous blobs, one shaped like a layer of petals, and one slightly further in like a layer of discs that seem to displace what is visible in their place by about five feet to the left.

"This is a most impressive setup Lissa my dear, I haven't seen such a precisely shaped casting of Wright's Reticulated Splines and a few of your home brew spells in there - most impressive. What do you call the flower shaped one? Rather inspired!"

A small flock of multicoloured small birds land on the ground in front of the pair of you, then uncannily begin to talk together in a voice that somehow combined to approximate human speech.

"Master Sea Wizard? What are you doing here? Why have you bought an arbiter to my door?"
