Kadius looks at Drew with disgust.

"Is... is that really necessary?"

This Drew person is clearly unstable. I can see him sabotaging our mission, perhaps unintentionally. Eliminating him would be helpful. Kadius begins to scheme. Perhaps there's some way I could knock him off the tower while we're interrogating this woman.

Calaveras just gapes at what Drew said, and knows she's probably not going to survive after she spills her guts.

"Don't try to escape, you mischievous wench," snarls Lazarus.

Her breathing harsh, she stares around at everyone. Then, to everyone's surprise, a cruel grin forms on her face.

"Ha... ha ha... you're going to pay for everything you did to me... aha... ahahahahaha!!!"

Calaveras cackles madly and puts her open hands in front of her face, near her eyes.

"Don't you dare!!" bellows Draktar.

The party is about to strike...

"Taste this!!!"

A blinding light suddenly emanates from Calaveras' body and suddenly no one can see anything but the light, pulsing madly in their temples. They draw back with loud cries, shielding their eyes. Then they hear Calaveras' voice growing steadily distant.

"Like I said! You'll pay dearly! All of you!! YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME!!!"

Everyone yells in anger, trying to see or even sense where she went, but it's no good. Eventually the light fades, and everything returns to normal.

The party look around. Calaveras is nowhere to be found. The Hippogriff resumes munching on her golden top, however.

As the blinding light vanishes, Benzine quickly hurls a ball of flame towards the spot where the woman previously lay, only to have it impact the cracked concrete and quickly dissipate away, with nothing nearby to catch. Looking around the rooftop, the rest of the group seemed to be in similar disarray, trying to work out what had just happened. It all appeared to be some kind of cover, though - the woman was gone.

"...shit."

Out go the flames surrounding his fists, and Benzine walks up to the spot where their foe had been, the only remnants being the now slightly charred puddle of blood. That and the golden top the hippogriff seemed intent on eating. He turns back to the rest of the group and asks "What now?"

I can see again. It seems I've fallen down. Heddwyn is on the ground in front of me, still unconscious. The group is maybe 15 to 20 feet away, hard to judge without aid from my visor.
I was kind of hoping they'd kill her. Oh well. Next time. Maybe I'll get to talk with her properly and we could work out a deal. I wonder if she can give me superpowers like that. That'd be so much fun! I wouldn't need them long, of course, but the end of the world should at least be enjoyable.

Right, Heddwyn. He's still messed up. Probably needs some sleep.

I rise to a kneel.
"Guys! Over here!" I call to the group.

"Stupid prophecy, stupid magnet man, stupid Heddwyn!" I yell. "I'm gonna get off this planet, yeah... take a ship and go back home..." I pick up a chair and throw it through the window, and I look down. My gloves form into a hang glider and I land a block or so away, running towards what I hope are the spaceship docks.

Kadius spots Drew hang-gliding away from the building.

"Hey, um I'm not sure if anyone really cares at this point but it looks like Drew's running away. I'm not sure why else he'd just up and leave like that."

Okay, so long story short, Drew kills some people, hijacks a ship and flies out of the system, hoping to go home. Unfortunately he has an unfortunate encounter with a squadron of space-travelling Aggrons, is boarded and ripped to shreds.

"Strange fellow, not too bright," says Binemald.

"My heart tells me he will come to a bitter end," says Walden. "Not that I care much."

"I cannot control whom I summon," repeats Nexios. "But at least Heddwyn here has proven himself capable."

(so, uh... that's the end of your spell in this RPG, TNS. Why you couldn't have just been patient and stuck with the plot is beyond me, but yeah. No forgiveness. :P )
