CBC 4 Santangelo vs Wallop

Post by British-Robotics » Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:10 pm

Spin my weapon up at full speed right from the start, I can't damage the armour of Santangelo but my weapon's size should be able to give him some heavy pops despite it not being damaging.

Protect myself from getting angled and show my weapon facing San-Pellegrino earlier on in the match, if my opponent over angles or makes a driving error, go right at him quickly and hope to hit the side of Santangelo enough to make him go inverted, if that happens, switch to attacking and quickly chain some hits and stop him from self righting cleanly and take him towards either side of the arena.

I have hinged wedglets that should be able to get under Santangelo's side and front without any problem (if the oppertunity to do it arises) Just stay calm and force my opponent to make some errors.

Good luck and may the best robot win :)

Wallop: Speed: 5 Traction: 4 Torque 1: Weapon: 13 (Vertical Disc 12/ Arm 1) Armour: 7

Santangelo: 8/7/2/1/12 - wedge teeth on

Use my big speed edge to angle in on him and those long prongs all match long. The second that he's lifted from anywhere but the exact front, he'll be high-ended. Wedge him and push him into hazards repeatedly, finishing with a flip most of the time, to force him to use that slow 1 point self-righter. Crowd and flip him in some more for additional hits, match control, powering up hazards, and smothering his weapon against the floor and walls. Avoid the Fatales myself, obviously, and use my huge drive edge to avoid having my back to the OOTA zones in a vulnerable position.

Defensively, hook away immediately if we accidentally end up head to head and I see his wedgelets win out. Self-right immediately if I get flipped, get away and reset, and come back on the attack. He can't damage me, but the loss of match control isn't good.

TL;DR: angle in on him, wedge and high-center him (his 'skirts' aren't hinged) and chuck him into the hazards all match long. Interfere with his self-righting and be a right ol' bastard.
