Buzludzha by Floating Castle Robotics on Sketchfab

Name: Buzludzha

Location: Kran, Bulgaria

Layout: Circle Squared off on one end

Size: 80 ft diameter (upper half), 40 ft x 80 ft (lower half) - 5713 square feet

Intended Use: MW-SHW Singles and Doubles, Rumbles up to 12 bots

Theme: Semi-abandoned Communist-era monument

Floor Materials: concrete

OOTA Zone?: YES

House Robots: This arena sometimes features two house robots which patrol the caution-striped zones at the ends of the arena. However, they will not be active for CBC3.

Hazards and Features:
  • Lenin's Hammers (5) - These are heavy metal hammers mounted in the corners and at three points along the curved northern wall. They fire when robots pass into their strike zones (marked in yellow and black caution paint), dealing moderate damage.
  • Stalin's Sickle (1) - taking up a massive amount of space in the middle of the arena, this enormous and very heavy but relatively slow-spinning flywheel is primarily designed to get a great deal of bite and fling robots that run into it into the furthest corners of the arena. However, it's still capable of dealing moderate to heavy damage.
  • The Gulag (1) - Located in the center at the southern end of the arena, The Gulag is a yawning pit with a short, two foot sloped wall surrounding it. It effectively acts as the arena's OOTA zone. Whenever a robot falls in, Roll Tide from the movie Crimson Tide will play as a final show of respect.

Alright, I'll need to stay away from Finishing Move as much as possible until his weapon starts to wear down from the start or the other verts deal with him. I need to stay out of action and let each bot wear each other out from the starting first minute. Most of us have near equal speed and traction. So I want to be the more fresher bot in this melee unschaved.

If a couple of robots are out during the melee, that's when I'll start coming in. Depending on the situation, If Fork Bomb and Scrapper are still alive, go after either of them who are close to me and attempt to rip off one of thier wheels.

Eagle's Hawk however looks the more vunrable with the bulky chassis, if he gets involved during the fight, I'll attack behind him and hope to create a decent hit to damage him. Then reverse away from danger.

Spinnerfood looks a little risky to take on so I'll allow the other bots to hopefully settle with him.

Good luck everyone and may the best robot win.

Too much chaos in the ring so I'm gonna go for general rules to follow instead of full strats. We've by far the fattest spinner in the ring, so just murderfuck anything that comes close. Keep aggressive and spin at max revs constantly and shit.
Spin? 2Win.
Someone dying? Killshot.
Someone gunning for the wheels? Gyrodance dodge.
Hotel? Trivago.

I have a huge speed advantage over everyone else, the ability to strafe, a reliable self-righter, and a versatile weapon. I also do 5 damage (with a corner shot) or better on every other bot here. I just can't take a hit to anything other than my ablative underall wedgelets.

1) Be opportunistically aggressive. When I see a chance, take it. Use my speed and control to avoid weapon-to-weapon. Use a quick strafe to the side and an over-the-back to punish anyone I see trying to sneak up on me.

2) If I see anyone purposely hanging around outside of the fight and trying not to engage, make a point of going after them. Strafe and circle strafe aggressively and force other bots to turn and gyro lift. Use my speed to capitalize.

3) Use my drivetrain to dictate where and when I make contact with other bots. People like attacking when someone's distracted. Do that myself and prevent them from doing it to me. Quick in. Quick out.

4) Flank the really slow or poorly-controlled spinners and punish them. Watch for people trying to gank me while I do this. Flee or use the arm depending on the situation.

Good luck, everyone!

Using the regular config. Stay away from hazards, except when we get the opportunity to push opponents in. While our opponents have powerful weapons and the same drive and armor, our weapon is about equal to them, and Finishing Move in particular is weakly armored. We also have the long forks, which should be able to get under opponents and push them.

Stay away from the battle first, like Eruption did, particularly avoiding Scrapper due to how badly we got defeated by them, and Finishing Move due to their speed. That said, we will strike any of the opponents when they start showing weakspot or get worn down by fighting another. Prioritize on Scrapper and Finishing Move first if that's the case, hitting the side of the former, and any of the latter's parts before they can get away with their speed and strafing.

If we are forced into a head on, try to angle in and use our weapon to tank the hit. Also don't get flipped by them. Also, we can still move when inverted. Try to right ourself on the wall whenever that hapoens.

Good luck

Plow off.

Try my best to avoid Spinnerfood, and keep myself facing forward or right reverse towards Finishing Move in case I can bring my weapon down or back on their 3 armour.

Shove my forks under those who get close and take full advantage of my potential reach both forward and backwards with my arm. If I get a chance to take a chunk out of Spinnerfood's wheel while its distracted do so.
