Robots 3 WK 3 LW - Hard News vs Flipcake

Flip Cake 7/6/2/3/10 (+2 plow)
Hard News 5 Speed, 3 Traction, 1 Torque, 15 Weapon (14 for spinner, 1 to srimech), 6 Armor (+1 armor bonus to the bar)

Flipcake is at least quick enough to catch up to Hard News and hit him head on from the front. I want to press down my lifting wedge on the arena floor so I'll be able to get under Hard News. Flip him over and allow his own weapon to potentially self inflict himself whilst upside down.

If this situation is happening I want to try and back away and don't get damaged myself from trying to attack Hard News whilst upside down. If he self rights, get right back on the attack and pressurize him.

Good luck and may the best robot win.

Ooop uhh I’ve got to fight an actual wedge?? In this economy?? Rough LMAO

Anyways, the good news is that I really favor myself here for a couple of reasons:
I somehow actually win the wedge war!! He’s a 4WD static wedge locked into only lifting up, I’m 2WD with wedgelets and a bar that obliterates my opponent when I’m hit anywhere besides that plow, especially if I’m getting corner damage on that meaty boxy frame — we’re in OHKO territory for sure.

With that being said, the plan is pretty simple — drive at him WITHOUT spinning up, angle in, and get under him - he should bump into my hub but shouldn’t have any problems getting past my bar, ending up with his bot turned around against the weapon system while I essentially force him to ramp over me. Once I do that, drive past him just a bit as I begin to spin up, then swing around — and BOOM, catch a classic chassis corner, causing catastrophic chaos — he’s dead, ahaha.

If this doesn’t work for whatever reason, and the fight hasn’t ended in KO after about a minute — switch to Plan B — power up that weapon and go ham! My main goal is to get the chassis hit, and I should be able to do so — I’m able to quickly self-right with the nub and dedicated srimech if I get flipped over, once my bar is spun up, my bar hits his wedge before it gets to me, and I’ve got two minutes for flanking and angle in situations if my opponent ever gets caught against the ground or makes some sort of driving error, and any hit against his chassis can easily get the job done, not to mention his plow is still taking decent damage after each hit and he’s getting knocked back — all of this gives me tons of opportunities to attack, and I only need one before it’s pretty much all over. Even if I somehow don’t get the KO, he’s not able to ever stuff me out since I’ve got a better wedge and he’s barely got the speed advantage, and I’ll ensure that I’m the aggressor while obviously having more damage by a landslide.

That being said, victory is all but ensured... good luck to both bots!
