Ruination Lite: The Switcheroo - Sign-ups

Post by That Kode Guy » Thu May 15, 2014 9:23 am

30 stat points

8 people

5 categories (speed, torque, traction, armour, weapon)

4 weight classes (LW, MW, HW, SHW)

1 bot per weight class

1 arena (ARC Arena)

The twist? Before the line-ups go up, all the robots are randomly scrambled around and end up in the hands of other people. Those are your robots until the end!

This is a single-elimination tournament that will run in-between FRR6 and Crazy Bots, for those three weeks. No 3rd place playoffs.

Usual ARC Rules and Regulations apply. Also, I will forcibly remove joke entrants. :P

Get entering. :proud:

6WD lifter with a rounded rear end and two front set-ups; a double-pronged Gamma Raptor-style lifter with the claw to match, and a scoop set-up. Both can lift up to 90 degrees, and push into the ground at about 5 degrees, which means only the back two wheels will be on the ground.

Speed: 6
Torque: 5
Traction: 6
Armour: 8
Weapon: 4

Middleweight
Xianghua

2WD rear-hinged flipper. The whole pink part is also the flipper, with the metallic spatula for better reach. Can easily self-right. Angled all around for better protection against wedges.

Speed: 7
Torque: 2
Traction: 7
Armour: 8
Weapon: 6

Heavyweight
Tellu

4WD axebot. Her axe works on a rack-and-pinion mechanism akin to Terrorhurtz. Rounded wedgy bits at the back of the axe allows it to work as a rear-hinged flipper at the rear. Has a front wedge which is hinged directly at the front of the main body. There are also two diagonally-placed skirts at the sides.

Speed: 6
Torque: 2
Traction: 5
Armour: 7
Weapon: 10

Superheavyweight

Boxy 2WD machine along the lines of Stingray, with the bar even having a thwacking tail to match. Said bar is very versatile and can punch forward to throw kinetic energy from spinning weapons back into them, can strike wedges and make them less effective, or find narrow gaps within wedge teeth, or just act as a mere keep-away stick. The front wedges flanking the bar are hinged and connected to the drive system, making them torque-reaction forks. They are not directly powered through active weaponry, so they do not take away from the bar's weapon power.

Speed: 7
Torque: 5
Traction: 6
Armour: 7 (+2 to the bar)
Weapon: 5

It sucks going 0-5. You lose all 4 of your bot fights for the week and you also lose at life.

Reserving as well. Do try to bring them back in one piece!

LW- Conqueror
Image
After its vacation on Isle Delfino (And starring in a spinoff game- Super Conqueror Sunshine- whilst it was there. :v: ), Dreadnought's little brother returns to the fray. Ever since the first LORE, it has been upgraded with thicker armour, brand new motors for extra speed and power, and new foam-filled tyres for additional Traction and Killsaw resistance. It's also had its famous Air Suspension restored, and the plumbing for both it and its Flipper refined, allowing both of them to be much more powerful and efficient than before.

With its new improvements in place, Conks is back and ready to put the boot in once more.

Speed- 7
Traction- 7
Torque- 2
Weapon- 6 (Front-hinged Low Pressure Flipper powered by CO2 gas, Compressed Air-powered Suspension System)
Armour- 8

Notes- Can quickly self-right using its Flipper. Features adjustable suspension in its drive wheels and front end, in order to more easily get over or underneath opponents and increase its agility. Like its older counterpart, Conqueror is also named after a Royal Navy vessel- in this case, the nuclear submarine HMS Conqueror, known for its role in sinking the ARA General Belgrano in the Falklands War.

MW- Marauder
Image
After its initial run in Ruination: The Beginning, everyone's favourite unkillable tracked machine returns meaner, tougher, and completely rebuilt. Still the same basic design as before, but Marauder's defensive and offensive capabilities have been considerably improved, as have the internals. Not only is it a great deal faster, pushier, and more controllable than before, but has new and much better tracks made out of steel with rubber grips for maximum traction and defence.

It's also got a newly-designed wider Lifting Plate with better wedging capabilities (EDIT: And removable Wedge Extenders for additional purchase when needed.), spring-loaded hooks on both sides of the chassis to keep opponents trapped in place as it flips and shoves them about, and a brand-new reversible Ramming Scoop on the back complemented by reversible hinged skirts (On tapered plates, so that they can function identically either way up.) mounted all round the chassis and tapering into the Lifting Plate at the front for great wedge protection, whilst still maintaining its good ability to climb over obstacles or other robots if necessary.

Improved in just about every way possible, Marauder returns with revenge on his mind- and he's out to flatten everything and everyone in his path to glory!

Speed- 7
Traction- 8
Torque- 4
Armour-9
Weapon- 2 (Linear Actuator-driven Lifting Plate with optional Wedge Extenders, spring-loaded Spikes, and removable Rear Scoop)

Notes- Is completely invertible. Interlocking steering prevents the need for it to reverse its controls when flipped, its Lifting Plate and Scoop can be used effectively regardless of if it is flipped over or not due to being reversible, and has two sets of spring-loaded Spikes- one for either side of the chassis. Yes, I copied this from the other thread, and no you do not get anything for noticing.

HW-Waterloo Sunset
Image
Fresh from an extensive overhaul at Carnaby Street, Waterloo Sunset returns once more following its previous good run in Crazy Bots Blazing Ruin. Basically upgraded in every way since last time (And the removal of the Wedge Stat. :v: ), this British Bruiser now faster and a much stronger pusher than before, a shorter wheelbase and wider wheels for improved control, and a redesigned Scoop on the back for improved resistance against (And control of) powerful Spinners, and can be swapped out for a Wedge (As shown here.) with removable pegs on either side for keeping opponents trapped as it pushes.

Its main improvement however, is in its far greater level of protection than before. Along with the aforementioned improved interchangeable Wedge/Scoop (Or Anti-Spinner Trap, if you want to be technical.), its Linear Actuator-driven Flipper on the front has been redesigned. Not only is it more powerful than before, but it's hinged in the middle of the chassis so it can push opponents regardless of which way up it is, and has a heavy hinged wedges rigged up above and underneath it- this enables a backup wedge to be underneath the Flipper at all times even as it fires for much better protection.
Not only that, but its Traction is better for improved control and manoeuvrability, an improved configuration of skirts for additional protection against wedges, and much stronger armour composed of thicker aerospace Titanium and Aluminium Alloys. This, along with its low centre of gravity and a very low and hard-to-hit chassis, makes it a design more than capable of standing its ground even against the hardest-hitting opponents, and both giving and receiving tremendous punishment.

Even more dangerous than before but still as classy as ever, Waterloo Sunset is one gap that you'll really want to mind.

Speed- 7
Traction- 7
Torque- 4
Weapon- 2 (Reversible Flipper powered by Linear Actuators, and interchangeable Rear Wedge/Anti-Spinner Trap)
Armour- 10

Notes- Completely invertible- interlocking steering prevents the need for reversing its controls when flipped, whilst all weaponry is fully adaptable for either side it can run on.

SHW- Black Mamba
Image
The Crazy Bots Blazing Ruin SHW Semi-Finalist makes a surprise reappearance for this competition! Although Mamba is still fairly similar externally to her original appearance, she has received a total overhaul internally to make her stronger and more versatile. She now has stronger armour to better resist blows against powerful Spinners and the like, and her sprung skirts are heavier to increase her resilience against other wedges.

The power has also been increased on her Lifting Arm, allowing her much better ability to flip, impale and carry opponents around using the locking mechanism and the pair of special attachments on the end- the triangular Tyre Cutter for shredding wheels, and a pair of heavy-duty Spikes for sliding neatly into wheel arches and other such gaps. The other main change is in her drivetrain- brand new motors grant her a higher top speed and torque, and the tyres have been refitted with grippier foam-filled ones for improved Traction and Defence.

With these new improvements, Mamba's out to put the bite on her opponents once more.

Speed- 7
Traction- 7
Torque- 4
Weapon- 4 (Electric four-bar Lifting Arm with Spikes and Tyre-Cutting Blade, rear-mounted Ramming Spikes)
Armour- 8

Notes- Can both run inverted and self-right easily due to the lack of a rear skirt. The Lifting Arm can be set to lock into an

i would like to reserve a spot my good sir!

LW: General Disarray
Image
Designed by GoldenFox, rendered by Inky, given as a Christmas gift to me. 2WD and features a front hinged scoop and a pneumatic axe. Most of the weight is in the bottom of the bot, so firing the axe could possibly get it back on its wheels if it's knocked on its side (Not a guarantee though...) If it's flipped onto its back though, it can easily self-right.

Speed: 6
Weapon: 9
Armor: 8
Traction: 5
Torque: 2

MW: Grave Eclipse
Image
Rebuild of my crappy Byte Size bot Epiclypse. Features 4WD, a powerful undercutting disc and side hinged skirts to keep people from chopping wheels off or from getting around the weapon. Is fully invertible.

Speed: 6
Weapon: 14
Armor: 6
Traction: 3
Torque: 1

HW: El Chupacabra
Image
Old, obscure one-time rumble entrant comes back out of retirement. Features a generic double-wedge shape, a Probe-style 360-degree lifting arm (with an optional plow attachment) and glowing LED eyes. It runs exactly the same inverted and can do cool tricks with its lifter.

Speed: 7
Weapon: 4
Armor: 10
Traction: 5
Torque: 4

SHW: Defenestration (AKA Canadian Kidneys)
Image
A brand new SHW looking to toss things (preferably out of windows). It features two weapons: Unpowered but spring-loaded spikes which are made to catch onto the undersides of bots and then drag them to hazards (Similar to SpikedPunch), and a pneumatic front-hinged flipper arm which, while it doesn't have much power, can self-right and get enemy robots off of its spikes. The red front wedge bits are hinged.

Speed: 7
Weapon: 3
Armor: 10
Traction: 5
Torque: 5
